Hi, so I’m F22 and recently hooked up with a guy (M24). Deep down I do want something serious eventually, but lately I’ve just been doing casual stuff because I honestly don’t know where to find something real anymore. Even casual has been pretty disappointing, so this situation has me really confused.
For context, he had recently gotten out of a relationship and told me from the start he only wanted something casual/quick, so I wasn’t expecting anything more from it.
Night 1:
We originally met up just for a hookup.What threw me off was that he actually seemed interested in me as a person. We talked a lot about our lives and had a weird amount in common. Usually with hookups, guys either keep things surface level, leave right after, ghost, or make excuses not to talk again. But he stayed talking to me, was asking questions about my life, and by the end of the night he was calling me “beautiful” and “sweetheart” over text. I actually started thinking he was cute/cool outside of just the hookup.
Night 2:
The next night I reached out first, and he wanted to meet up again for something quick. It was fun, but his energy felt different from the first night. Before the first meetup he had been reaching out a lot more, and after this one he became more distant.
During the second night I told him I was okay with rougher stuff and he could do whatever he wanted, but instead he randomly kissed me gently on the cheek which honestly threw me off even more because it felt weirdly sweet compared to the vibe of everything else.
What’s confusing me is that usually after hookups guys ghost me, unfollow me, block me, or clearly try to get rid of me. He hasn’t done any of that, but he also hasn’t really been acting the same since the second night/testing conversation either.
I honestly can’t tell if I completely ruined any chance of this becoming something more, or if I’m just overthinking the whole situation. Cause that's the some of the iffy signs he us showing of wanting more but idk.
At the end of the day, I think deep down I do want something serious. I’m just really confused on where to find something genuine, so I’ve settled for casual stuff, but even that’s been pretty meh lately and I’m honestly just over it and not sure what to do anymore.
