Question to see if the portal is for me.

I am a big on the go gamer. While I’m your typical late 30s husband my wife and I are both gamers and have individual set ups in the living room. So I wouldn’t need it to necessarily play at home (though while laying down for the night as my wife reads would be a plus)

For me the big use case would be while I’m not home. Things like playing during my lunch break using the public wifi at work. Or playing while waiting for my plane in the airport.

All that is to ask, how does the portal play on a public wifi or a basic hot spot (does it take a lot of data?). My home internet is 1gb and I don’t mind hard wiring it to play on the go.

Thanks in advance!

Kind of a weird one. But Should I play Crimson Desert or Dragon Quest XI?

I am torn between these two games as my next RPG. I like turn based games with an interesting lore or story. I love flashy combat that has me start as normal and I work to do some cool looking stuff.

I am looking for the game that is best played with chunks of time with no volume on. And a game that allows me to grind and do it with style. I want to feel rewarded for my time and effort. I also would like an interesting story with some good lore. How is DQ's combat and story once you get in the second half (I know most of these games take a bit for combat to feel and look cool). Is Crimson Desert really a weird and nonsensical story or is there some cool lore? How is the combat in Crimson Desert? Can I be a magical swordsmen?

I know it's weird that these are the two games I am torn between, but I have both, and I feel like playing a game that I can grind at times while watching tv in the evenings. I plan to pay attention to the story beats when I have time, but there is a chunk of time where the wife and I are just chilling watching tv.
