What do you do with your GI when traveling?
As the title says going to travel for work and want to take a go and train when I'm out there. At home I'd come home, wash my go and hang it to dry, what are you guys doing when traveling and don't have access to a washing machine?
Do you wash it in the hotel shower?
Strategies for dealing with disagreeable toddler? Every morning is a war.
The question is literally what the title says, I know it's partially "that age" but I wanted to know if people have strategies they've had success with in getting toddlers to do the things that need to be done.
A few things in the morning that are huge battles:
Getting her off the potty. She'll sit there and say I want to poop (after she's already pooped) and will sit there for 30-40+ minutes until it becomes a battle. This is a tough one too bc we don't want to discourage using the potty but at a certain point the day needs to move on.
Getting her dressed.
Getting her hair combed / in a pony tail.
Putting on her sunblock before daycare (they go into the backyard before it gets too hot so they ask us to apply before they get dropped off).
I can go on and on. We've tried all kinds of strategies, giving two options to pick from, counting down, trying to use external things (Ms Tara called and said you need to get off the potty), and so on. I tried reading through a book I saw recommended on here "how to talk so little kids will listen" but it all seems like recommendations for a child with more cognitive development than this age.
Most mornings each of these just turn into her screaming NO NO NO and me having to physically force it (like picking her up off the potty while shes screaming and kicking) which I don't think can possibly be healthy or productive in the long term.
The only thing which effectively gets her to go along with what needs to be done is turning something on for her to watch, which is causing a whole other layer of friction between my wife and I because her take is if that's whats necessary to get it done and to daycare on time then so be it while I think it's a problem to have to rely on it. For context though she's been late to daycare every day this week, which causes more problems as they bill us for being late and it waterfalls into the parent who takes her being late to work. We've tried putting her to bed earlier and getting her up earlier to help with that but that's dealing with a symptom not the problem and had the same issues, to be out the door on time we end up having to battle with her when it reaches the point of this needs to move along now.
Then in the evening it's the same thing all over again with getting ready for bed, using the potty before bed, getting her teeth brushed and so on which causes more problems with her bedtime, us cooking and eating dinner, and so on.
It's causing huge amounts of stress for everyone, creating what feels like a really unhealthy dynamic / situation (I don't want my daughter to see me as the person who restrains her through the day while she screams) and a lot of friction between me and my wife.
Open to any ideas / strategies / recommendations.
Thanks in advance.
Custom cards just for the face cards (K/Q/J)?
I'm looking to order a deck of cards with custom images for the face cards. My daughters going to college and I want to put her me, her mom, her and her sister on the face cards for when shes out there paying.
Most of the ones I've found online though allow you to do the back of the card or 52 photos for all of them.
Can anyone recommend a good company who can do what I'm looking for?
Thanks!
