POD 2 responsiveness

I’ve been looking at the Pod 2 for a while now. I do most of my intervals on the treadmill where I can easily control speed, but have started doing intervals on the track outdoors where I have to rely on my estimate of pace combined with live pace data from my Pace Pro. The problem is the data is pretty laggy - so when I’m adjusting pace in real time, it’s hard to find that goal pace without spending half of the interval speeding up or backing off in accordance with the pace I see on the watch.

How responsive is the real time pace tracking on the Pod 2? Response from Coros team appreciated 😄

How do you plan pace for hills?

I live in a very flat city with very few hills, so my training has never really included hills. I learned this the hard way after my first marathon did not go to plan, missed my goal time by about 9 minutes (3:19 vs 3.10). I learned AGAIN 2 weeks later after hitting some savage hills in a half marathon and missing my 1:30 goal time by 5 minutes (which in fairness I was on track for a 1:32 until a dodgy gel gave me stomach issues).

I have a 10k race coming up and I’ve just learned it has 144m of elevation gain. I am trying to adjust my expectations according to this elevation but have no idea what pace to aim for. My goal for a flat course would be 39 minutes - what would you be aiming for in these circumstances?
