I was driving my 2001 530i and the turn signal on the front driver side stopped working (it previously was blinking fast and I didn't get to it quickly enough). This led to the air conditioning also stopping working (but the ambient air still blows). The instrument cluster does not register the turn signals in use. However, the passenger side front and rear signals both work fine externally. On the driver side, only the rear works but is blinking fast. I'm going to replace the drivers side front and rear bulbs tomorrow. However I'm puzzled as to why the turn signals were affecting the air conditioning. The battery was replaced 2 years ago. Does anyone have any insights? Do I need to replace the turn signal assembly?
