Help with upstairs Texas Living Room
We are finally getting to decorate the upstairs of our house. In Texas, there are these second living rooms upstairs. Truly don’t have a need for it since we have our primary living room downstairs but want to decorate it as it clearly looks bad. We have an 11 month old son that maybe this will be his hangout space in the future but it needs to look semi decent now. We have a TV that could be used here but we don’t feel any ties to the TV/can move it if that would be best. Open to library area, hang out areas, play room area (though since it’s upstairs and the bannister scares me he probably won’t use this area for at least a few years)
The other idea is my husband has so many sports, history paintings and little figurines so we could make this like a cool collectible area for his little men.
Also open to construction to better utilize the space? The open concept makes it very odd.
The first picture is what you see when you come up the stairs and the others are the actual room itself.
TLDR: open area spaces upstairs, what to do with the space to make it look nice and functional?
