Having major difficulty finding a wall mirror!

I want a large rectangular mirror that is around 36 by 46 or 48. Ive bought a couple thst are actually smaller 30 by 36 (do that if it doesn't work out I can carry them and return them without need for help). One is from wayfair and the other is called Tetote brand from amzn. One isn't crystal clear (the reflection). The other has a clear distortion (if im sitting 8 feet or so away I can see straight objects in it that are bent especially from certain angles. I even bought the Nova overlapping ovals from west elm but there is a stain (not the kind that can be removed) so its going back plus I do want the shspe I mentioned now

So in short I need a large rectangular mirror with rounded corners that has high quality glass and the reflection is flawless. Im lookimg at something from cb2 but especially now that I'm considering a large mirror want to make sure I don't get disappointed.

Where and how to add additional seating to our family room?

We recently bought a house with a gorgeous family/great room. It features stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and an operational fireplace. We’ve placed our L-shaped sectional sofa into the room (from our previous rental) but are struggling to decide on a layout for additional seating.

Do we buy a 2-seater loveseat and block the fireplace? Maybe 2 accent chairs instead and place them at an angle in front? I want something comfortable and practical that guests can sit in when they visit, ideally cozy seats that you can sink into. No need for this seating to have visibility to the TV.

Any suggestions?

The room is still a work in progress. It’s currently lacking end tables, throw pillows, and a bookcase that will go where the floor lamp is currently. We also have small children so we have to be intentional with what goes on the floor. The decor above the fireplace will be replaced with a large painting in time.

Matching, or different varnish/color pieces for bedroom furniture?

I'm looking to buy new furniture for a bedroom. My husband and I are conflicted on whether to "match" all the furniture in the sense of it being the same wood/stain color or using some sort of combination. I am leaning on using a lighter wood stain for the bed + nightstand (e.g., brushed taupe), a greenish paint for the desk and grey for the dresser (example images attached). Options attached. Any feedback appreciated!

Help me design my studio

I want to keep the bed (it folds to the wall), the curtains and the kitchen. The windows are aluminium. There should be place to study and to eat. I like cosy with some industrial elements in sink with the windows.
I hope you can help me making the right decisions for colour use, furniture and light fixtures.

Thank you so much

Marleen

Would it be an absolute crime to bring these (recently renovated) green cabinets back to natural wood?

First time home buyer! Sorry for the potato quality second image - its from an old listing.

This green feels very 2023 to me, and I'm wondering if it would be terrible to remove some of the previous owners hard work

I’ve been living in my Basement for a month and I need help organising it

I’ve been living here for a month and I think a half or a bit and I just need some advice and stuff to help with making it look better
Anything is allowed to be moved except the white table with the fan, it holds my household’s security system and it will be changed to be on a rack but is immovable

First Apartment: I Ditched the Trendy Sofa… Now I Need Color Help

Hey everyone,

After reading everyone’s advice on my last post, I decided against the trendy TikTok-style sofa and started looking more into classic furniture styles instead.

At this point, I’m mostly trying to decide on the color. I narrowed it down to blue, orange, and yellow based on your recommendations, and attached the options here. The walls are white, and I also tend to really like Persian-style rugs with reddish tones. Outside the window, the apartment overlooks a golf course, so there’s a lot of greenery and even some water views as well. I’m trying to figure out which couch color would work best with that overall aesthetic while still keeping the space feeling light and airy.

I included the first photo of the space to show the general layout/setup I’m planning. I drew it terribly and the proportions are definitely off, but hopefully it still gives you the idea. The apartment is pretty small, so I’m trying to avoid anything that will make it feel too heavy or cramped.

I also included a few inspiration photos so you can get a better sense of the overall style I’m aiming for. Would really appreciate any opinions or suggestions again. Thanks!

advice on organization!!

hi everyone!! i’m new to studio living and would like some advice on the organization of this specific floor plan. i apologize for not having pics of the actual unit—it’s a new construction so i never actually got to go inside!

anyway it’s a 424 sqft studio (~39.4 sqm) (i don’t have the individual measurements sadly lol) and the main thing i’m concerned about is how i’ll organize it (especially with that pillar there). i have a full bed, desk, night stand, standing mirror, lamp (my non negotiables), and a cube organizer and tv stand shelf that i am very open to getting rid of if needed! i’m having trouble visualizing what this would look like or if it’s even possible to have all this? idk!!

side question: i have a cat, where would yall put the litter box in this setup?

please help me with my workspace

My husband and I just bought a new house, and I'm struggling to decide a layout for our workspace.

For context, I work from home and am also an artist. I need space for my drawing tablet, monitor, sketchbook, all my pencils and pens and brushes, and a large space where I create stop motion figures and environments.
My husband works full time out of the house, but also needs desk space for his monitor and laptop because he is a writer and an occasional gamer.

Because of all this, our desk space has to be pretty huge, and I'm struggling to decide how to lay it all out, especially keeping feng shui in mind.

~ Note, the shape of the desk is not a problem, as I will be custom building a new one :) ~

I've attached some pics of different layouts I created in Floor Planner

  1. this one is great for facing the door at every spot of the desk, but it would require me to cover the closet

  2. this one is nice too, though I wondered if the entryway might be too squished

  3. the worst for feng shui, but very open and spacious feeling. Also covers the windows which makes curtains a pain

  4. might be nice for having lots of desk space, but a really tight squeeze

  5. wonderfully open and spacious, but might be over whelming and bad feng shui

  6. this one is kind of just meh to me, it feels very middle of the road in all aspects

How to design the turret corner?

Hi, im trying to figure out how to design this corner. I am getting rid of the coat rack and closet hanger thing, so dont worry about all that. Also, the chairs will be gone. Im just trying to figure out how to design it. Its 8 feet across. I want a 6 foot round rug, and i want it to be a corer where i can read/lounge but i apso wanna be able to set up my laptop to work from this area occasionally when im sick of my office. I def want the round rug , i was thinking of a rustic red to offset the rest of my room, the carpet under my bed is an ocean blue and my sheets and comforter are turquoise

Kitchen cupboard colour suggestions

TL;DR: cupboard paint suggestions

In the hopes of avoiding major expenses, I've been trying budget DIY hacks to refresh our kitchen. One of these has been peel and stick backsplash tiles. I'm not in love, but prefer them to the previous tile which we've lived with for quite some time (see the untiled section in the middle). The issue now is that the tiles are stark white and the cupboards are off-white (which wasn't a problem before the tiles went in...now it's very obvious). I'm fine to take off the cupboards and paint but would love thoughts on colour recommendations.

The kitchen is relatively shaded, so I was trying to avoid dark colours, hence the backsplash and white cupboards. Countertop is a black speckled granite, appliances are stainless. Open to colour combos (ie different top and bottom colours).

Trying to avoid ordering new cupboards altogether because the house is super old and standard doors don't fit, so it would need to be an entire cupboard replacement.

Thanks so much in advance!

Block or don't block fireplace

Looking to update my living room, starting with new furniture. I'm thinking about getting a sectional, like maybe a U-shaped one. We'll be able to face the TV, however it blocks the fireplace.

My mom really has a nack for interior decorating and suggested I get a small sectional with chaise and put it against the wall. Across from this, a loveseat or swivel recliners to prevent blocking the fireplace. But I don't want to look sideways to watch TV. She also suggested moving the TV to the other wall, putting the fireplace on the right of the couch, but that layout seems weird to me.

Also the fireplace is an electric insert that we use during the short winters. Appreciate any suggestions or ideas we have haven't thought of.

Living Room Color Scheme?

I’m having a hard time picking a rug and curtains that will go with my furniture. I have a beige/cream couch, a mid-century style orange-ish sofa, and an orange maybe walnut dresser. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

How would you furnish this living room?

Hi all, open to suggestions on how you would furnish this living/dining room. We are really struggling! Thank you

New house- where to start with this kitchen!!

Hello everybody 🙂

We just purchased this house and this kitchen needs some updates..

The flooring is junky and ugly in my opinion.

The island situation is very strange with the way it’s angled. There is a dishwasher there.

Looking for general ideas for where to take this!

Not looking to spend a ton right away- just to get it to a place where it feels cozy and well put together.

Any ideas are extremely appreciated 😀
