Large Wall at front entrance to house? Leave it or lose it? Replace with something else?
Upon entering my house, there is a large divider type door when you first walk in. It does create a nice divide in that it separates the main entrance space from the huge living space around. We are thinking of removing it all together though since it is rather old and doesn’t exactly fit the aesthetic we’re going for. Any ideas on what we can put instead? We considered a slat wall so you can see our backyard upon entering but not sure if it makes sense. We’re also considering a banquette with table and sitting on the other side (not front entrance side) to make use of the wall being there.
Please note the post in the middle of the room holding it up IS loadbearing so if we remove it, that post would have to stay there. Either awkwardly or with something around it 😅
