What color rug should I get for my living room?

Furnishing my apartment from nothing and I’d like to get a rug before my couch is delivered. I’d like my space to look light and airy, but also a bit edgy im not a big fan of sad beige aesthetic. I thought maybe a dusty mauve / blush but thought it might lean a bit too Barbie’s dream house.

I prefer a solid rug or something with minimal pattern. My couch is a distressed velvet in the color sand.

Attached are photos of my space and the couch I have coming, as well as some inspo photos.

Any help is very much appreciated! I’ll take any advice, coffee table, art, anything lol thank you so much ! I’m clueless.

14 year old dog was killed in boarding

Our 14 year old family dog, a Yorkshire terrier, was attacked by a husky in boarding and did not make it. This is a place we have taken her many times before. I am unsure why this time she was around big dogs.

We are attempting to take legal action and proceed in that way. We do not want to run this family business into the ground as we believe it was a mistake / negligence from one of the young workers, but we will take action in some way.

I am just having a horrible time processing this. She was the best dog, and had so much life left to live. I feel like we failed her. I keep thinking about her final moments and hope she wasn’t scared or in pain. We all miss her so much and I have never felt grief like this.

She was a best friend to our other dog, who was also there. My dad had to show our other dog her deceased body so he understood she was gone, and wasn’t anxiously pacing looking for her.

I’m just looking for any advice how to deal with this. I’m going back to work tomorrow after calling out the last 2 days and hoping being busy helps, but I have never felt heartbreak like this. She didn’t deserve this and I miss her so much.

Why do I hate my bedroom?

I feel like something is off. I already decided the art is too small and took it down. The rug just came in but I’m really unsure about it and feel like maybe it’s too small? And idk if the blue is a good idea either. I do really like my marble night stand. The first photo is my bedroom and the others are inspo I’ve pulled so you can get an idea of my vibe. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
