[Online] [WoD | M20] [Friday/Saturday PST/GMT -8] Player Looking for M20 game.
Looking for an M20 game to sink my teeth into. I've played a short two session mission in M20 with a couple of pals earlier this year and have been yearning to get into another game ever since.
I'm an experienced Player and GM with about 11 years under my belt of playing various systems. D&D5E, P1E & P2E, Lancer, Cain, Morkbork & Cy_Borg, Bastionland, Wilderfeast, Mothership, and a few others that I can't quite remember off of the top of my head. Though I am known to play the occasional bit character for one shots, I tend to take a more serious approach to my long form characters. I've played a lot of larger than life characters in my time, but over recent years I've been having a lot of fun of playing more mundane, grounded, characters and I don't think I'll be stopping any time soon.
I would say I engage at the table as more of an objective force, in that I tend to do things to keep the scenario moving forward. I've had plenty of one-shot's turn into 2, 3, and occasionally 5 sessions, and while it was super fun and everyone was engaged, it was also very stressful on the scheduling of every player who had only blocked out time for the one, and the GM who only prepared for the same time frame. I will engage with bits, roleplay my heart out, draft up some incredibly stupid plans, but at the end of the day everyone at the table is here to play a game within a set time frame and sometimes that means calling for a scene to end from the player side to hold us accountable for our own scheduling.
Preferences
- I have a preference for nobody involved being under the age of 21, but as low as 18 is fine. I just prefer being around people who's most recent memories aren't of high school.
- I am ok with most forms of content and themes, darker is even preferable, but it MUST be discussed session 0 between players and the GM. I would prefer to not have to stop or drop mid session because of something deeply uncomfortable I was not prepared for. Consent is king in all aspects of life.
- Game tone as opposed to setting tone, a serious tone with a little dose of goof for the health of the people playing outside of the characters is good. Just don't overdo it, too much a bit can drag a moment down.
- Preference for M20, but I'm willing to try V20. I also hear Changeling is fun, and I am somewhat interested in Demon the Fallen if literally anyone even runs that.
- Communication, both in and out of conflicts. If there is a problem, someone is uncomfortable, or I've done something, just talk to me. I try to be approachable and understanding.
