Planning trip to Hunza & Skardu\Gilgit. Need relaxed itinerary recommendations
We’re planning a 2-week getaway in the later half of June. This will also be our first trip after getting married, so the main goal is honestly to relax, travel light, enjoy the scenery, and not turn the whole thing into a rushed checklist trip
Current rough plan is:
Karachi → Lahore (staying with friends for a few days) → Islamabad → Hunza → Skardu → gilgit
We’re trying to keep the trip smooth and peaceful instead of cramming too many places.
Would love recommendations for:
Cozy stays/hotels with good views and reasonable rates
Best areas to stay in Skardu and Hunza for a relaxed vibe
3.Whether it’s better to:
rent a sedan (automatic preferred), or
hire a jeep with driver
4.is a sedan comfortable/practical for Skardu → Hunza travel?
5.Reliable car rental/driver recommendations
6 Places that are worth seeing without exhausting ourselves
We’re not really looking for hardcore adventure stuff. More like peaceful views, lakes, cafés, easy sightseeing, sunsets, good food, and slow travel, But we would still love to do things like boating, light activities, maybe parasailing or rafting if there are good/safe spots for it.
Would really appreciate itinerary suggestions from people who’ve done a similar couple/honeymoon-style trip recently.
Budget is flexible-ish, but we’d prefer value-for-money recommendations over ultra luxury.
