Desk top choices 🤯
I’m adding a desk/study nook to my 11yo son’s room and I’m overthinking the options so need opinions please. Which shape & colour look the best?
Drawers are Ikea platsa/smastad so desk will be 42cm x 185cm. Eket is against the bed end and is 30cm x 105cm. I want to add a counter on top of both for continuity and I’ll add legs to the drawers so everything is the same height.
SHAPE:
- Counter across the tops only
- Counter on tops + outer sides
- Counter on tops + outer sides + small wrap around shelf joining the 2 tops
COLOURS:
A. Medium grey concrete effect laminate, 2cm thick (cheapest option but might look too busy?)
B. Light grey concrete effect laminate, 2.8cm thick (its darker than the photo though so more like A).
C. Beige grey laminate, 2.8cm thick (warmer beige than the photo).
D. Dark grey laminate, 2.8cm thick (might look too dark?).
E. Walnut laminate, 1.2cm thick (Besta top panel so no overhang).
F. Walnut laminate, 2.8cm thick.
G. Hardwood panel, 1.8cm OR 3.3cm thick (most expensive option but even the 3.3cm version is only a few dollars more expensive than F)
