My cat has been hiding non stop since moving in with a dog. Is this normal and how long until she should feel better?

Hi redditors,

My sisters and I recently had to move in together. I moved rooms in the apartment to make space for them so they could have a bigger room so my cats regular space has already changed.

My cat (2F) had been living the the apartment since a kitten and hasn’t interacted much with other animals. My sisters dog (3F) is quite anxious, barks a lot and is also adjusting to a new space. She also has a history of chasing cats.

We thought the introduce them before they moved in behind a baby gate and my cat was very curious and then the dog started barking and my cat hid for days only coming out for food and toilet.

Now they are fully moved in and obviously it has been an adjustment for my cat living with new people, new room, new sounds and smells etc etc.

I have been giving my cat some supplements and also using the feliway spray and diffuser to help.

I have separated the house so the dog has her space and my cat has her space too. I have also put my cats litter box into my bedroom (unfortunately) so she can feel comfortable to go to the toilet.

I just want to know if there is more I can do or that my sister can do with her dog? When should I worry about the hiding? Is there anything I shouldn’t do?

Very stressed and really want to be here for my kitty.

Thank you.

Can I use a portable monitor instead of a regular desk monitor?

Hi everyone!

Recently got a WFH job and want to really seperate my bedroom space and work space so I plan to do a lot of my work from my living room but occasionally I might want to work on my balcony or in my bedroom. At the end of the day I want to be able to close it up and forget about it.

Is using a portable monitor an option for this? Really want one at least 20”.

Let me know if this would work. If so please give me suggestions. If not why not?

Thank you!

Portable monitor over a regular desk monitor

Hi everyone!

Recently got a work from home job and am kind of in a smaller bedroom.

I really want to create a seperate space so plan to work out in my living room and do majority of my work there.

I am thinking of getting a portable monitor for when I am working. Something I can use and put away and move into my bedroom, living room or patio depending on the day. I want it to be bigger than the average 15” portable monitor.

Do you think this is a viable set up? If so any suggestions and if not why not?

Thank you!
