I come to you with a small problem of mine regarding a 3DO Goldstar. The disc doesn't spin, but the console operates otherwise. Turning on the TV shows graphics. Turning off the console makes the disc 'jolt' a bit, which makes me think that the motor isn't the issue but the laser. If possible, however, I would like to hold off on purchasing parts unless absolutely necessary. I cleaned the lens, and tried to clean the ribbon cable as well.

My father purchased this 3DO at a pawn shop a little over 20 years ago, and had since been in storage and has travelled around. The 3DO worked before when he played on it, so the most likely issue is that something bumped during transport.

The laser is a SF-C93. I am unsure of the other specifications of the console. Below is a few images, and here are links to some videos.

The whirring sound comes from one of the gears in the tray and is (I think) unrelated to the issue. There is also a clicking sound that counts to three. I am unsure of its origin.
