I’ve noticed in his series they’re either fetishised (trans women), crazy/bitches/ineffective (Niall’s mum, Rueben’s mum, cis girlfriend in baby reindeer, the girlfriends mum in baby reindeer), sex fiends (Mona, stalker), or framed as annoying and desperate to be used by the male protagonist (bb reindeer girlfriend, Johanna, Celeste) then somewhat useful, then abandoning the protagonist (Johanna, girlfriend). The only “good” woman I can think of in his writing is his mother in baby reindeer. Has anyone else felt this way?
