Can you hear well with your stethoscopes?
I’ve caught wheezes once. That’s it. I suck so much with my stethoscope and it’s so expensive already (Littmann IV).
You guys have any tips? Is one of those digital ones worth it??

I feel so worthless on rotations. Started on IM and I still don’t understand our EMR that well a week in.
I keep freezing when I’m talking to patients and wish my flow was more conversational like the residents are. I also just forget our conversation as soon as I start walking out of the room so I need to note take a lot.
I just look stupid everyday to our residents. The residents are super friendly and supportive but I wish I could do more and be helpful for them.
How do I get better faster??
IM feels really tough especially since I have some social anxiety.
And I know “comparison is the thief of joy” and I love the other med student. She’s on it and helpful but from day one she already knew epic from her gap year job and is just so much faster and more proactive than me.
Having major imposter syndrome - any advice?
For the anking deck I want to be able to change the font color for specific parts of the extra tag. Does this reset itself?
I’m >10,000 cards due. I shut off Anki for 2-4 weeks to focus purely on weaknesses and STEP prep.
Any advice?
When should you get housing for rotations? Some spots are around an hour away which sounds doable if you beat traffic but two hours of driving a day sounds like a way to burn away time. One rotation is about three hours out I’m definitely hoping to get housing for.
Any advice? Also any general advice for starting rotations is appreciated!
For level 1 can I get away with doing 0 cranial? Everyone says it’s super low yield but our school comsae was rich of cranial and it made me realize all I understanding is craniosacral flexion/extension. It’s a super boring topic.
I just feel like my plate is already so full with refining other subjects outside of ONMM and just spamming questions than speaking 2-3 hours hammering cranial? I’m generally confident in my OMM outside cranial and HVLA.
I understand even if something is “low yield” doesn’t mean it won’t show up and destroy me.
Any thoughts?
I’m struggling with communication/behavioral questions on “what to tell the patient next?”
Any advice on how to improve this section?
Does a good COMSAE mean anything for STEP 1? I know I need to take NBMEs to know but I plan to soon and want general expectations.
My worst section was communication surprisingly. Those questions where “What do you say next to the patient?” Any advice to improve on this??
One month from boards: STEP 1
If I abandon ship on older reviews and just do uworld incorrects from Anki and content I need to refine will I be fine?
Since STEP 1 is pass/fail too is this a bad idea? I’ve done Anking all through pre-clinicals except for the couple exams I hadn’t (content I’m working on).
Decided to take step last minute. Am I cooked if I get 1 day between these exams?
It would be Level 1 first. All the sooner dates got taken.
It would go LEVEL 1, one day off (maybe look over a little bit of stuff), STEP 1.
I tend to move on from exams pretty quickly (but I’ve never taken life determining boards). Maybe Google questions I can remember.
Hi guys I wanted to do the pepper sketchy deck but it seems half the cards turn out like this while the other half is fine.
How do I fix this??
I don’t understand how to schedule when you take an NBME and which forms are best to use?
Like do you do one every 2 weeks?? Also how many would you use? Is two NBME forms enough?
I have been using UWorld and doing decently. Any tips?
