Low testosterone, high cortisol last year - could this be related to significant increase in lipedema tissue? (Would like to hear from anyone with these blood results who also have lipedema)
So, I’m in the process of diagnosis, would only be stage 1. Petite trunk/torso, but large adipose legs which have developed over the last 10 years & all the other symptoms consistent with lipedema.
Unfortunately I’ve now started noticing my arms (which used to be skinny) have lost tone (used to have defined muscles from years of weight training) and now they’re columns. Within the last few weeks I’ve noticed a rise in loose skin/jiggling on the back of my arms - I’ve never had this in my life (even when I’ve been out of shape). I am very fit, I weight train and run most days. I haven’t had any generalised weight gain- if anything my stomach is flatter and face slimmer in the last 6 months . Has anyone seen such rapid changes ?
It’s really getting me down - I don’t even look like someone who trains anymore. My legs limit my ability to run distances now, so I’ve had to heavily reduce my running.
I’ve been trying to think of any changes or causes, and the only thing I can think of is last year around June/July I had hormone testing and my testosterone was low and cortisol mildly elevated. I know lipedema is very much hormonal mediated but I’m wondering whether anyone has had similar blood pathology in the context of lipedema
