Mainstream History as Maya

The World as Deception

---

If we look at the ancient texts they talk about the world as deception or Maya created by god's. In Rigveda, the ancient book of Hinduism they talk about 33 types of gods who create this magic of maya to deceive us.

There is a massive psychological difference between an illusion (a passive misunderstanding, like mistaking a rope for a snake) and a deception (an active, intentional trick designed to mislead you). Let's take a couple of religions to see if they share this idea.

Judaism & Christianity

---

The Hebrew old testament of the Bible talks about Ma'al (מַעַל) — "Trespass" or "Covenant Unfaithfulness" which translates to an act of treachery, embezzlement, breaking faith, or committing a trespass.

Another Hebrew word used is Hevel (הֶבֶל) means "vapor," "smoke," or "a fleeting breath." Sometimes translated as Vanity

The Greek new testament of the Bible uses Mataios (μάταιος which is translation of Hevel in Hebrew) derived from matēn ("in vain"), it means empty, profitless, hollow, or devoid of foundational truth. Verses frame world as an empty, deceptive loop that fails to provide true salvation or lasting spiritual value.

New testament also uses the Greek word Schēma (σχῆμα) to remind believers that the societal, political, and material structures of the cosmos are like a theatrical stage set. The actors and backgrounds change; it is a temporary facade rather than ultimate reality.

Islam

---

In Islamic philosophy and the Quran, the material world is frequently described as Matāʿ al-Ghurūr (مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ), which translates directly to "the provisions of illusion" or "the enjoyment of deception." Two verses actually state that what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion. This is virtually identical to the Vedic concept of Māyā—the idea that the physical world is a beautifully decorated trap blinding us to ultimate reality.

Indigenous Traditions

---

This idea is prevalent in many indigenous mythologies, but I will mention only a couple - the world was shaped or is constantly interfered with by a Trickster deity—such as Coyote or Iktomi (Spider) in various Native American traditions, or Eshu/Elegba in West African Yoruba religion. They ensure that reality remains unstable, unpredictable, and deceptive. Eshu/Elegba/Papa Legba , for example, is the master of the crossroads who intentionally misleads people, creates misunderstandings between neighbors, and flips expectations upside down.

Narrative of Progress

---

We are taught a narrative of progress in which we are told that humans are slowly progressing from using stone to bronze to modern age. It carries the underlying aasumptuon that out ancestors were in some way inferior. In this context we are shown that old people were religious and believed in 'spiritual' illusions like gods/demons/fallen angels/other magical beings often with animal heads. We look around us and see only humans and we think they were just hallucinating all the time. The concept of 'religion' is actually very recent, about four centuries or so. Before that people just looked at these books as history. Did we have such non-human beings on Earth.

Analyzing history of Himan population

---

If we look at human poulation before 5000 BC, it was relatively stable with a small increase. We were 5 million at 8000 BC and 5000 BC but by 4000 BC we are at 7 milion. Then it keeps on increasing.

Farming, domestication of animals, forming of vilages etc. have been happening since 9000 BC and that did not cause this sudden increase as some people try to explain away.

The whole human culture changes abruptly around 4000 BC. Prior to that we were an egalitarian society where if a person has a problem with his tribe/village we just joined another tribe/village. It is believed that the 'spiritual' belief was animism in which all universe was perceived as one spirit.

Elite Empire takes control

---

After 4000 BC, we see major changes out of nowhere. God's appear along with Priest Kings in mutiple parts of the world and an elite divine class take control of society. We are taught that these parts of the world did not communicate with each other at that time. New ideas are institutionalised including state religions, class, caste , chattel slavery, idea of owning property (before that we saw ourselves only as custodians), Mathematics for tax calculation, specialized warrior caste (army & police), statutory Laws etc. there are other technological inventions like ploughs, new weapons etc.

Written Langauge appears around 3500 BC

---

Oldest writing we have found are not poems but administrative ledgers. They were receipts for grain, tallies of taxes, inventories of livestock, and registries of forced labor or slaves. Writing was not invented to set the human spirit free; it was invented by an elite class to:

  1. Standardize reality.

  2. Quantify human beings as economic assets.

  3. Enforce debts and legal punishments across vast distances.

Elites Empire develops new ideas

---

Once the structural architecture of the state was invented new ideas were added— money as time-slavery, incorporating central treasuries, standing militaries, written property laws, & institutional hierarchies— world became a elite maintained machine. Whether the elite call themselves Pharaohs, Emperors, Feudal Lords, or modern CEOs and politicians, the underlying mechanism is identical: a tiny percentage of the population manages the wealth generated by the labor of the majority. Previously the elites described themselves as god's or descendants of gods. If you trace back all royal lineages - they almost always say they are descendants of sun god/goddes and venus/morning Star. Now we have politicians, tech billionaires and celebrities.

Money as Time-Slavery and artificial nations

---

Modern fiat currency, backed by nothing and driven by interest-bearing debt, is a brilliant mechanism for energy extraction. Because the system requires continuous inflation and debt repayment, we are forced to trade our finite, irreplaceable life-force (time) for survival tokens. It is an infinite hamster wheel.

We are also taught that there are separate nations controlled by separate kings or peesidents or prime ministers or what not. That is one of the biggest deceptions. There is only one elite empire, the idea of nations is a show for us.

Progress is Often Just a Shift in Branding

---

As elite control is a permanent fixture of civilization, major historical shifts (from monarchies to constitutional democracies) are just updates to the system.

Elites learned that overt, brutal force eventually triggers resistance. A more stable way to maintain control is through manipulation of symbolic matrix—giving underclass illusion of choice, consumer comforts & a stake in system, keeping them compliant without requiring army on every corner.

The Illusion of Political Choice (Controlled Opposition)

---

The political landscape is a theatrical spectacle. Media corporations weaponize constant anxiety, keeping us locked in a state of hyper-reactive tribalism. By forcing us to fight over cultural wedge issues across two seemingly opposed political parties, the underlying elite corporate-financial infrastructure remains entirely untouched. No matter who wins the election, the same elite run transnational banks & military contractors get funded.

The Ultimate Question

---

It has become difficult for us to Conceive of Reality Outside this Cage. Civilization & its symbols have dominated us for 5,000 years, i feel that we may even have lost the cognitive ability to imagine a different way of being human.

We view nations, taxes, jobs & rigid hierarchies as human nature. In reality, these are recent, artificial inventions. We are animals born inside a zoo; even if doors are left wide open, do we possess instincts/worldview to survive in wild forest of true, unmediated freedom? What do you think?

Alternative History exploring Maya

In an oral culture, knowledge is alive—it is passed down through storytelling, adapted to present moment & deeply embedded in a specific environment.

The moment writing captures language, a profound psychological mutation occurs - Map Becomes Territory

A piece of clay or papyrus suddenly holds more authority than a living human being. If tablet says you owe twenty bushels of grain, it doesn't matter if your child is starving or a drought occurred - abstract symbol overrides the physical reality.
