T-Bone in cast iron - hero shot + detail shot, looking for feedback on styling and composition

Hi everyone! Looking for feedback on these two shots from the same T-bone session; a hero shot and a detail/close-up.

Looking for general critique, food styling feedback, and also something I've been noticing in my own work: I tend to always place the main subject in the rule of thirds intersection. Curious if that's coming across as too formulaic or if it's working here.

Shot on Nikon D300, 105mm macro lens, cast iron skillet. T-bone with chimichurri, rosemary and roasted garlic. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Bruschettas

Hi everyone! I'd love some feedback on these two bruschetta shots I took recently.

Looking for general critique but especially on the color work — I feel like the parmesan shavings might be blowing out a bit and losing detail. Is that something to fix in post or more of a lighting issue at the source?

Shooting on a Nikon D300 with a 105mm macro lens.

f/9; 1/125; ISO 400

Any thoughts appreciated! 🙏

Let's talk about focus, what's your approach for angled shots?

Hey everyone! First of all, a huge thank you for all the feedback you've given me before. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that.

Today I want to throw out a question and hopefully spark some discussion about what works best in food shots. This morning I woke up thinking about focus, there are situations where it's pretty clear how to approach it (like a flat lay, where you want everything sharp), but others where it's not so obvious, like a 45-degree angle shot.

So after thinking about it, I made myself breakfast and decided to test it out using the natural light available at that hour (which unfortunately wasn't much, since it was a pretty cloudy morning). I ran a few experiments to see the differences... and by the time I was done, my breakfast was cold. Totally worth it though 😂

Same Shot diferent backgrounds.

Sunday's Breakfast - First serious attempt at storytelling in food photography - feedback welcome

Hey everyone! I'd love to get some feedback on this shot. My main focus is on building images that tell a story, and while I feel like this one is heading in the right direction, I know I still have a lot to learn. One thing I always struggle with is making the scene feel more natural and believable — like it actually happened, not like it was set up. Any thoughts would mean a lot, thanks!

Hey everyone! Sharing the latest from LoFi_CL - a project where I blend traditional Chilean folk rhythms with lofi.

This one is a full hour journey through the sounds of southern Chile - chamamé, ranchera, valseado and patagonian cueca, all mixed into a loose, repetitive lofi groove. No big drops, no climax, just hypnotic beats to study or relax to.

Think end of the world vibes - cold wind, wide open spaces, fogón in the background 🔥

Would love to hear what you think!
