Do Americans know that waiters love tips?

You're aware right. They make so so so much money. Ridiculous. I used to be a dishwasher in my undergraduate degree. If I knew the waitstaff were making that much I wouldn't turn up to work. My happiness is inversely proportional to their own. It's outrageous. The fig leaf that the boss doesn't actually fully pay wages is a lie, they are forced to make up the difference. I would say that if the waiter isn't getting a full wage in the US the business is about to close. It makes me really really upset.

Does the Lindsay Clancy trial prove women WANT to be institutionalised for hysteria!

A few years ago, there were constant jokes about how Victorian women were locked up for hysteria, how backwards it was, vibrators needed et cetera. A trip to Fauxmoi shows many women saying it was a crime that she wasn't locked up in a mental hospital, that misogyny stopped male doctors from really listening to her disrupted state and detaining her for her own safety. But of course this is what Dr. Thaddeus Phillips was doing at Bedlam in 1887. It seems that as a society we are approaching i.e. moving, towards long-term involuntary committal making a return. I agree, but its interesting how history turns (maybe the subjugated knowledges weren't the Late Victorians critiqued by Foucault but Foucault himself). It seems that the concept of hysteria is in a word real, and women are crying out for us to give them empathy and help with this disease, or perhaps symptom.
