Looking for recommendations for not the usual sights

I will be in Rome end of September for 2 days and I am looking for hidden gems.
I have been numerous times to Rome in the last couple of years and have been to all of the major sights multiple times, including the Jewish area and the ruins around it, Borghese, Vatican, Vatican museum. I have walked all the neighborhoods. Spent time in Trastevere, Campo di Fiore. Etc.
I am Italian Canadian so a cooking class does not interest me (I will be seeing lots of aunties and cooking with them).
I am going to Appia Way when I arrive in italy.

What hidden gems can you recommend?

Is it worth repairing Ariat field boots?

I purchased a pair of NWT Ariat field boots on EBay for $200 Canadian.
Unfortunately they do not have zippers and are impossible to get on. I have spoke to a reputable cobbler who said they can add zippers. The cost will be approx $100-200.

Are they even worth repairing? I have tried to sell them and even give them away and no one wants them.

ETA: my other option is to donate them and buy myself something else. I would probably purchase Auken paddock boot and half chaps as I have already spent $200 and now don’t want to pay full price for another tall boot

Does anyone think the Camera might be a luxe item? You can see it in the makeup bag and also on the wall of Polaroids there are several holding cameras
