Is AIP always prorated for a promotion?

Was recently promoted effective 4/1 as part of the normal merit cycle. AIP went from 5% to 15%. I've heard some on here say that means I'll get 3 months at the 5% and then 9 months at the 15% rate, so an effectively 12.5%. Is there any manager discretion on that? Any chance I can get the full 15%?

Thank you!

I am supposedly up for a promotion some time this year but was not given a specific timetable. Trying to stay patient but man it is tough! I think most off-cycle promotions after merit raises tend to happen by the end of Q2?

Has anyone received an off-cycle promo yet or know someone who has? I don't even care if it goes into effect until June I just want to know the details ASAP!
