I (35/F) am exhausted. I've been asking husband (39/M) of 16 years for respect. His reaction is always some combination of yelling, deflecting, insulting me, blaming me, playing the victim, then storming away. How can I get him to HEAR ME.

Edit to add: This morning it all started because he asked if I would go to church. I said no. Somehow the entire conversation devolved into an argument. I don't see the point in going to church with a man who doesn't live by the principles taught there. He treats everyone else better than his own family. His response: "it's not for me (husband). it's for (daughter)."
