Is it only me who thinks that our coaching staff is built only on the basis of nostalgia and loyalty

Going back to 2025, we brought in Mahela Jayawardene again to recreate 2017, 2019, and 2020, but it seems like nothing fell into place. He made statements like “180 is a par score at Wankhede,” did not know how to adapt to the impact player rule on multiple separate occasions, and we used 24 out of 25 players, which is a result of him fucking up at the 2025 auction. Plus, he did not even give chances to youngsters like Mayank Rawat and Izhar, even at the end of the season.

Coming onto Malinga and Pollard, I feel it is more out of respect, especially when it comes to Pollard, because you retired him after 2022 and he continued to play other leagues, and Malinga because he was our bowling spearhead. But from my perspective, they are not coaching material. They can give you a bit of guidance regarding their craft, but Robin Singh and Shane Bond were much better because they worked with us for so long. But it is shocking now that one was sacked and went to RR, and the other has left all MI franchises. Just why??

Moreover, even though one can say that our players have been in abysmal form and, due to the bad team environment, everybody’s performance goes down, the management has shat the bed a lot. Our scouting has downgraded so much from 2024. I have not seen a good scouted pick other than Naman Dhir. Our other youngsters are Robin Minz, Malewar, Bhagat, Bawa, and Ashwani, who is also very inconsistent, while other teams have brought in Sakib, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Aniket Verma, Prince Yadav, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi for such low prices, so money should not be an excuse. It is very sad because our previous history shows we have scouted the Pandya brothers, Bumrah, Tilak, Ishan, Stubbs, etc.

Let’s look at the case study of RCB. They brought in one of the most successful T20 franchise coaches, Andy Flower. They also made Mo Bobat Director of Cricket, who won the 2019 50-over World Cup and the 2022 T20 World Cup with the England national team as a performance director. Even DK, with his mentorship and analysis, has helped RCB in the auction. These are people that understand the modern T20 template and have very good planning when it comes to everything.

So my final opinion is that we also need a complete overhaul in our coaching setup get in fresh names like adam vogues, ashwin , eoin morgan, jonathan trott etc because now even csk fans have started talking about sacking fleming because of how ouddated he has become but we have been worse than them since last 6 years therefore we need a new coaching staff more desperately .

How can a guy be this clueless and annoying its baffling

I am convinced this guy might be the worst coach. This guy never has the brains to do anything. Andy Flower and co. always take an impact batsman when they collapse. Today, we could have brought one in as well to get us to 170, but you trust Deepak Chahar more 😡

Like, how can you not know how to use the impact player rule? You brought in Shardul and Raghu in the SRH and RCB matches for no reason.

Now, getting to the most frustrating thing every team is giving youngsters chances. KKR dropped Vaibhav and gave Saurabh Dubey chances, LSG gave Mukul chances, and RR gave Brijesh and Punja chances too, that too when their season is alive. Our season is over, and still this guy won’t give chances to Mayank Rawat and Mohammad Izhar. I don’t understand his bloody problem.

Shockingly, even Bosch was not given many chances, but players like Thakur and Markhande kept playing in the beginning.

Lastly, this mf fucked up both the auctions in 2022 and 2025. These players cannot even be backups in the Zimbabwe national team. What is this Minz, Malewar, Bhagat, Ghazanfar, Markhande?

Next season we have to get rid of this useless managment and some players as well

I literally have no doubt that if there is a shittier and more outdated coach than Stephen Fleming, it’s that chomu Jayawardene in the Big 2026. This guy is not familiar with the impact player rule; he thinks it’s 2020 or something, that the impact sub is only used for fielding. Plus, think about it this guy fucked up both mega auctions: first in 2022 with Thampi, Murugan, Mills, Sams, whatever, and in 2025 with Bawa, Minz, Bhagat, Malewar, Deepak Chahar, and a washed Boult. Just think how bad our squad is that we have tried 24 players already.

Lastly, every team is giving chances to youngsters, but we are not letting Izhar or Mayank Rawat get even one game. Plus, with all these shitty tactical calls like if you know Tilak likes pace, play him as a finisher. Even Naman, that’s where he did good last year. And these fuckass statements like “180 is a par score on Wankhede” wth, that’s just peak clownery.

Most importantly, people who keep blaming Boucher he was fired, and so was Zaheer Khan after 2022. But this guy, who was Director of Cricket of MI when Hardik was traded, still gets to keep his job. Why? Tell him to fuck off already.

Moving on, apart from our mahan Jayawardene, all the other management is just useless. Pollard is not a coach; you forced him to be a coach and retire. Malinga cannot be the bowling coach; he does not teach anything else except yorkers, and that too our bowlers cannot even execute in the match. RCB got Shreyas Iyer out like 5 times between the last two seasons on low scores, but we made him look like a great batsman because of our shit bowling plans. And no offense to Sachin sir, but him as a mentor does not make sense because all he does is give moral support. What’s his role in team decision-making?

We should get names like Adam Voges, Eoin Morgan, and Ashwin into our management as soon as possible, warna yeh Jayawardene mara dega humko 2028 auction mein.

To conclude, I would just like to say: also get rid of non-performing players like Surya and Hardik, bohot hogaya abhi. Rohit Sharma I won’t say, because anyway 2027 is his last year and he is the godfather of this franchise.

Is it true that robin singh has left all mi franchises

I just saw the ipl sub and i have noticed actually that ever since robin singh has left the mumbai franchise has gone downhill and most importantly the scouting of talent we used to scout players like tilak, pandya brothers, bumrah, marco jansen but I have also noticed but now no offense we have players like minz, bhagat, bawa , malewar who show no spark at all.

Plus I dont understand why the mi managment or ambani's are doing first they made pollard retire and made him coach, then robin singh mentioned he has not been with mi since 2022 and now he even left mi's sister franchises and has parted ways with mumbai indians completely, lastly they sacked rohit.

Like what is going on if you think keeping " mastermind mahela " for next season and future seasons is good for the team then no he is completely destroying the team i dont understand just get rid of him if you fired zaheer khan and mark boucher already how much time is it gonna take to move on from him as well.

My blood boils watching and hearing this guys press conference

Let me summarize :

He first says there were no options left in the end with experience. My guy, if you consider a man who is 33 and has played countless domestic matches not experienced, I don’t know what to say. And he was our impact.

First of all, impact should have been Shardul and Ashwini looking at the pitch and how Rasikh bowled with his slower balls. This pitch was tailor-made for Ashwini’s bounce and Shardul’s cutters, but no you brought him in the SRH match and did not make him bowl one over. Now this with Raghu.

Furthermore, he says we were very impressed with Bawa with his wide yorkers and bowling in the nets, but that does not justify giving three overs to a rookie when the match could have been won. What stupidity and foolishness. And then what’s more frustrating is that this guy goes blabbering about how we played good cricket and our execution was not good and all.

Mind you, this is not the first time mistakes like these have been made under him Bhagat last over against Samson randomly, Ashwani against Shreyas in Qualifier 2, now Bawa in the last over. Hardik was not even here and Surya is a new captain, but same mistakes. Jayawardene is getting exposed.

Last point : he mentions that tactically we wanted to keep the same playing 11, but because of injuries and niggles he could not. That’s bullshit, bro. You randomly brought in Malewar then kicked him out when Rickelton was there, randomly brought in Bhagat then kicked him out, then these last two matches and the starting matches with Deepak Chahar, and the most timepass decisions ever. Robin Minz played two matches and out right after, Mayank Rawat one match and did not even bowl or bat. Musical chairs challenge rahi hai bhai, only Izhar was not used.

This is my second post regarding jaywardene being sacked because i am desperate for him to get kicked out as soon as possible hope management sees these blunders because its just not this game but every game this season and also some last season.

Do you need more evidence as to why there is a need to sack this guy immediately !!

First of all since the beginning i have been seeing this guy changes combination every he is playing musical chairs with bawa , bosch , minz , malewar, chahar and shardul like he does not know what 11 to play one random match he bought in mayank rawat he did not bowl nor did he bat and hardik was not even here today who you gonna blame surya? But why not him. Plus two times this season impact was sent raghu in today and shardul in srh match they did not bowl 1 fucking over and they are impact players you are a coach in today’s date that has not gotten up to date with such rules yet . Moreover people blaming what type of youngsters we have selected bawa , minz , malewar , bhagat whatever whatever its all done by him and he fucked up two mega auctions under his helm 2022 and 2025 some major auctions for us and he did not buy any good players. Lastly his approach is outdated i dont know what he tells the players but under him we just do tuk tuk thats it even on flat pitches bro was saying in one match that wankhede is 180 par pitch abe ganta .

Conclusion is we might blame hardik and surya but if you have a shit coach nothing will happen like ruturaj is not such a good captain imo but fleming is doing better planning and he has improved last season even he was not evolving but this guy is just hiding under the shadows isko nikalo bhai bohot hogaya .

If atharva ankolekar has a mild injury we could have waited for him to recover could have tried him out for mitchell santner as he plays the same role a left arm spinner and a lower order bstaman its not like bhagat created some real impact.

We know you are the owner but he is becoming like the new goenka match by match he is involving himself in cricketing decisions trading hardik and shaking hands for will jacks in the auction, plus in yesterday's match he is coming in the dugout like he is in the support staff or a player and at the end of every match he takes part in the player handshakes at the end when nita ambani was managing this never used to happen but with him its becoming more common .
