If Tilak becomes the next MI captain I'll be done with this franchise for good!

Like...Idc about his personal life or who he dates/hooks up with. But this is not that. This is far from it!

It's like his pr team is fully focused on packaging him as some highly desirable catch of the GenZ batch of ICT instead of asking him to work on his extremely glaring weakness!

And no, I'm not some boomer Desi parent who wants wants his child to have his nose buried in the books 24*7 even during holidays. No one's suggesting that he should be practising 24*7 during a break. But hoping that he practices a little social media etiquette and moving with some seriousness and sophistication is not too much to ask for, is it?

He had a horrid season with the bat. His abysmal game against spin or when the ball is doing a bit is there for every Tom, Dick and Harry to witness. Even the stand-in captain of Ireland knew he had to get spinners the moment Tilak had walked in.

And what is he doing? Making useless reels and collabs with influencers.

This is who MI/Rohit fans want as captain??? And if the management actually goes through with it and awards him captaincy, I'm done with this franchise for good!

BTW "Respect to Aditya Tare for giving us one of the most magical nights in MI history"

What do you think is Naman's ideal position?

He played well at no3 but he was a bit slow, he saved collapses tho

As a finisher he had good knocks consistently, I think he can play as a finisher better than as an anchor 🤷

Mumbai Indians and their art of using Indian Spinners:

The Victorious MI or Rohit's Era did not have a Sunil Narine/ Rashid Khan. Rohit sir wisely played the game with spinners, some directly came from the domestic circuit.

We know the game has evolved, so are the decisions taken, but still lack of Indian Spinners will affect our lineup someday.

Mumbai always had a habit of utilising spinners within the pp, which is always a braver call with the field less spread out, finger spinners become effective. For fans saying we have 2 OS spinners, remember - No two OS spinners (directly into the 11) won a title, and it is always advantageous to have a local spinner --

  1. Understands the pitch condition and can be trained and groomed even during Non-IPL time.

  2. Raw and adaptable - Easily available

A Strategic Captain like Rohit can study the line and length. Ex- Used Harbhajan's flat lines and tightened the line with Cont. Drifts by bowling closer to the wicket, and used Ojha to handle Roughness on the surface with his bowling action was a pure masterclass. He did not mixup their overs at all. No present thinks this wisely

In this mega auction, MI must target two good Indian Spinners (finger spinners) and slot them into the 11 and Rohit must personally train them - I can't find a better reader of spin than Rohit in the team.

Must give Ankolekhar and Mayank Rawat a few overs this time, who knows if they click they can be used for future.

Kimg was the only player who was playing for MI in 2026 IPL MI vs RCB at Wankhede. Then Kaptaan Hardik came dismissed kemg and made sure MI Shouldn't win.🥶( I don't mind to lose Patidhar bhai)

What actually happened to the us

I've been supporting MI since 2011. Initially because Mumbai was closest to my hometown, but later I genuinely fell in love with the MI philosophy.

What made me fan of MI is their scouting. They could pick someone from nowhere and turn them into a star. Bumrah is the obvious example, but there were so many others SKY, Hardik, Krunal, Chahal, Kuldeep, Axar, Jitesh and so on. Even overseas players like Bravis, Stubbs, David, Jansen brothers, even McClenaghan became legend in the MI.

And then there was the mentality.

The Iconic 2014 Rajasthan chase. The 2015 comeback. The one-run wins in the 2017 and 2019. You could never count MI out.

But somewhere around 2021-22, I feel like that identity disappeared.

Where is our scouting?

We've struggled to find a quality spinner for years, while other teams keep discovering young spinners. We've tried Chawla, Markande, Kartikeya, shokeen even tried to bring back finished Rahul Chahar, but still haven't found our guy. Meanwhile, others have found Nigam, Harsh Dubey, Yash Raj, Manav Suthar, Sai Kishor.

Where is the never-give-up mentality? We were around 30 in the Powerplay while chasing 200 against CSK at Wankhede. (My inner soul was crying at that point 😭)

And then there's the leadership situation.

I actually like Hardik and was genuinely happy watching him succeed with GT. But why did MI need to bring back an already-successful captain instead of grooming the next MI captain themselves? They did this successfully in 2013 with Rohit.

That's what feels different to me.

Maybe I'm just nostalgic. Maybe every fan thinks their team's past was better.

But I've genuinely started wondering.

What happened to the Mumbai Indians philosophy that made us fall in love with this team?

Would love to know what the Paltan thinks.

MI's bowling has to be the priority going forward

If we don't fix our bowling, we ain't winning anything. No matter how much we strengthen the batting, if we don't have the right bowling combo, we simply won't compete.

Out of the last 5 seasons, if you remove the 2025 season, our bowling has been way below par in the other 4. No right combination, constant changes, overly relying on bumrah, and not enough proper complementary bowlers.

The main USP of MI used to be our pace heavy attack. We used to have bowlers who could win games on their own. That edge just isn't there anymore.

And this is where I think MI need to be smart in the auction. Don't just keep adding another big-name batter because the batting looks good on paper. We need bowlers who give us variety powerplay wickets, middle-over control, death bowling, and someone who can actually support bumrah instead of putting all the pressure on him.

You can reach the playoffs with a stacked batting lineup, but you don't win a competition like that. Batters can win you games, bowlers win you trophies**.**

If MI gets the bowling right, this team can be dangerous. If not, we'll just keep repeating the same cycle strong batting, questionable bowling, and another season falling short.

Ayush Varthak: Our Maharastra's upcoming young Fast Bowling AR.

He has the potential to become an international player very soon. 6+ Feet, Hard hitting middle order batter and an unorthodox Right arm fast medium pacer with good swing.

Has attended 3 trials this season: RR, Kkr and CSK while CSK is loving him and will try to acquire him this season.

We MI are the only team still looking for Punjab players when we have our own talents

Hardik seeks return to Gujarat Titans, with captaincy rider; franchise says no

GT management shows some spine, rejects the captaincy rider from Pandya. Wish MI management had shown the same guys, 2 years ago.
