while it’s sad that it’s come down to this, there needs to be real consequences for the people stalking ethel, treating fans like shit, and having god complexes on twitter. something like this was happening in the billie eilish fandom last year, and the only resolve was people at shows calling them out to their faces and to staff. the girl that was causing issues was denied entry into a show because of her stalker behavior. not saying that people who go to a lot of her shows and follow her are always an issue, but camping for barricade for every show AND have the audacity to be a fucking cunt is not cute nor funny nor should be tolerated. you do not love and respect her as an artist or a person if you are participating in this behavior; it is rude, creepy, disrespectful, some things have been illegal (ex: breaking into the house in nebraska house), and if ethel met any of you she would not like you. once she starts recognizing their faces and her team sees everything going on online there could be consequences, but as fans, and this is unfortunate, we just have to take initiative. tell the venue queue staff at shows you see the group at! if they won’t do anything about them being stalkers (which i presume will happen), they will tell her team of this request and could potentially make the group leave the queue for rude and dirty behavior.
obviously the best case scenario would be that they see the backlash and stop, but honestly i don’t see that happening.
also, behavior like this is why she doesnt interact with fans much online, so please, don’t make us lose the privilege of interacting with her at all. we might already lose the privilege of simply looking at a house she was inspired by, so stop making it personal too. the lack of etiquette and respect is absolutely insane.
