Need help writing up threats for Legions of Supersoldiers
I've been working on a species of Supersoldiers who are the genetic/adopted (technically both as they typically are taken in at a young age like famous Supersoldier archetypes of the Child-Soldiers trope) grandchildren of a Goddess who rules over Humanity and a Myriad of Worlds with other alien species. These same supersoldiers are the genetic children of around 14 to 19 half-goddesses who lack a Father entirely and are made partly of psychic energy or (whatever weird idea I came up with at the time, their Mother's psychopotent in this universe, so I just decided it'd be the one thing I don't give much thought.)
Now I'm a-bit stumped about one thing which is how to create more Threats to keep them interesting in their own universe. I have so many ideas for what could qualify as a threat for a Supersoldier that can throw 20 tons, move at hypersonic speeds and survive falling from orbit with nothing more than a minor sprain or fracture which they can heal within a few minutes (Given they are in their Power Armor) — not to mention their primary gun is supposed to be a light or heavy assault rifle that fires something called a 'slug' at hypersonic speeds and honestly, whole bunch of science cool happens when you fire it (without all the complex crap like a Bolt round from 40K would require. Just think of that) —
I feel like these guys definitely push the supersoldier trope to a bigger extreme than 40K and Halo now that I think about it, even if I have grounded it in some science theories and explanations which were inspired for me by Halo over the wackiness of 40K.
And there are about a million to 1.5 Million of these boys n' girls just roaming the galaxy and figjting anyone who poses a threat to their Grandmother's Empire (calling it the Eternal Imperium which is a little on the nose and you can guess where the inspiration kinda draws from) but like. At some point, I've gotta think of more than the measly few threats they already go against and the typical: 'Fighting on all-sides' narrative at some point, right??? So far, I've got goblins who grow bigger everytime they kill and then separate to restart the cycle with greater numbers (Ortarions), I've got time-manipulating alien elves (Chronarchs) who actually apparently don't all manipulate time. I also have some robotic supersoldiers who are actually just led by two sisters of a pretty much dead species and these robots are barely sentient souls from the Chronarchs stolen by aforementioned sisters (Synthalos).
And the Eternal Imperium's supersoldiers are Astralottar which Astra being star, obviously, I made up this word Lottar to translate to Ranger, meaning the common person would likely call them: 'Star Ranger' since they come from the stars in the perspective of the average citizen in the Empire to defend their world.
(Also, Major side-note: They are all doing their best to try and defend innocent life both in their Empire and outside of their Empire to follow the mandate of their Empress/Grandmother who believes in a 'Protect the Weak and Shield the Innocent' philosophy.)
