Please help me find out the name of this film *Spoilers*
There was a film I watched when I was young. Very powerful film that explored the life of a transgender woman and her journey. I can't quite remember the full film but the ending was rather impactful due to its brutality... The film ends with the transgender woman getting dressed to go out at night. Whilst walking to her destination she's confronted by what I think is a group of guys. She's brutally beaten and killed. What sticks out in my mind is the ending of the transgender person laying dead on a table in a dark room with her friend crying over her. Really powerful and sad scene.
I don't believe it to be an American film. It's a foreign film pre 90s i suspect. Could be 80s, could be 70s
Many years ago I think channel 4 were doing a countdown of tragic endings in film and this film was on the list. I've looked for that channel 4 programme to try and find the name of the film but I can't find it.
Can anybody help me?
