We’re finally under contract! We would like to update the kitchen by redoing the counters and adding a backsplash. We want to keep the cabinets as is (beautiful in my eyes) and leave the flooring for now!

For the island, I would prefer to bring it to one level. The support beam is throwing me off. I wish it wasn’t there, but it is so now we embrace it! Input on how one level would look? We want the island to be as functional as possible for serving or seating!

Thank you!

I could really use some outside insight because I am in decision fatigue at this point.

We custom designed my wedding band and during that process decided to upgrade my engagement ring setting too.

Round 1 rendering: The shank wasn’t quite right (missing the slight knife edge I wanted), but this version had small V tips + side prongs. My main goal from the start was that I want my stone to look as elongated as possible, have protection, and symmetry.

Today I got two new wax molds from the revisions, Option 2: Claw prongs and Option 3: Larger V tips.

I’m really happy with the updated slight knife edge
and my wedding band sits nicely with the engagement ring after adjustments from my first round of feedback, I cannot decide on the head/prongs 😩

Claw prongs (Option 2): feel more delicate and maybe elongate the stone?
Large V tips (Option 3): feel more protective and bold, but I’m worried they might visually shorten the stone and be too bulky?
Round 1 (Option 1): had a bit of both with side prongs + smaller V tips

I genuinely like something about all three, which is making this 10x harder.

What makes a stone look more elongated? Claw vs V tip prongs (aesthetics + practicality)? Anything I might regret long-term?

I’ve attached a ton of photos of all options.

Thank you in advance for helping me get out of my own head 🙏
