Hi, I was looking at this car, and I keep hearing the 1.6 Petrol is quite bad.

My dad also agrees and dislikes that engine, but I want to know, with reasonable care is it as bad as it sounds?

I'll do anything that's suggested for care.

For specifics its a 308cc Petrol 1.6, 88kw, 2010 with i think 165k km. I don't know if any other specifics are needed.
