Prices

Is anyone else’s store full of non priced items? Every other customer brings something to the register asking for the price because no one checked if it had a tag/sensor before putting it on the floor. I’m tired of running to the floor to find another one (no speedy sku use)
Sometimes it’s the last of an item and sometimes every one of them has no tags. Or they picked it up from a random spot.
The assistant manger would give me a random price for some of them which means we’re either under charging or over charging🤷‍♀️

I’m quitting

After a full week of working, it’s decided. I’m currently in the bathroom while the line wraps around the store. Two cashiers quit today and the front end supervisor literally snuck out after saying “I’m going to get change”. There’s literally THREE staff members. Myself, loss prevention and the store manager. Who keeps leaving to hide btw making me the only cashier in a brand new busy store. I told him it was too much for me and he told me to take a break so I’m on a break contemplating my life.

Edit- so turns out 5 people called out and two quit lmao
I didn’t quit because I desperately need a job. The job market is too trash to quit without a backup :/

Cruel and unusual

First week went TERRIBLE! It sucks being reprimanded for something that the mangers don’t how to do themselves. How are you upset it’s taking me a while in the cash room WHEN I SEE YOU STRUGGLING TO CLOSE THE TILL WITH MY OWN EYES!!! You’ve been here 10 years! I haven’t even been here 10 days! They also kept messing up my till. One said I was over and other said I was under?!?! Make it make sense. QUICKLY!
And to top it off, I got off at 1am and go back in at 8:00am 😀

Management rant

I made a post about my role and the grand opening but deleted it because I wanted to give it a real chance. Lmao big mistake!
Today was the grand opening and I’m the front end supervisor/closing supervisor/ whatever the heck else because the store manager is a bird for brains.
So I’m in the front helping the cashiers and using my badge to do discount and what not. It gets to the time where there’s a switch on the register, so we have to take the till out to count. Something goes wrong and the manager tells me to get out of the cash room and go to the front. There’s 3 registers open with a line around the store and not a single manager/supervisor in the store is answering the walkie. It was getting to the point where even the customers were questioning where the managers were. I’m trying my hardest with the very little training they gave me. I can work the register just fine and had been a supervisor before, but my previous job was WAY smaller than Burlington and theres still more I need to learn! I run around the store looking for ANYONE, and tell me why I find the managers hiding in the break room. Not on lunch or anything. Just in there. They tell me to hop on any register, which I was told not to do as it would mess up the till. I’m SO CONFUSED. A little later I need the store manager and come to find out every manager had clocked out and left. I do my best with what I can and figuring out the register on my own(I hope it was right). I get past my clock out time by an hour, and another supervisor that just came in says “how come you won’t stay longer”. !?!??? They have me MESSED UP.
Rant over.
I’ve never been so frustrated in my LIFE!!!

I’ve been working here a week and already want to quit

So I started working here 2 weeks- ish ago counting orientation and still very confused as to what role I have.
I was offered a closing lead two days after being told I was going to do sales floor.
I accepted not knowing that they’d throw me into the fire with no help.
The 4 managers tell me 4 different things to do at the same time and get upset when I haven’t done all 4 things. I have to tag, set up the store, do the trash, supervise the people working BOH (I haven’t even learned what they’re doing)
The stores grand opening is on Friday and I still don’t know how to work the register (which apparently I have to do as well as supervise the whole sales floor)
They’re sending me to a different location to learn before Friday when I’d have to close alone.
Does it get any easier or should I ask to be a sales floor associate again? I’m worried they’d terminate me with how unprofessional/unorganized things are right now.
