This is about my mom as much as it’s about my toddler.

Every time my 2 year old eats around my mother, my mom says “ooh can I have some” in like this teasing way. Now my toddler has started saying “no, \*her name\*’s food” in like a pretty mean tone. Then my mom kind of fake reprimands her for being mean.

I keep telling my mom to please just leave her alone and let her eat. My mom says my two year old is not very “generous”. Am I the one that’s off base here? It’s SO ANNOYING to me for someone to ask for your food every time you eat something, but maybe that’s a personal problem. I don’t always share my food with my toddler. Sometimes I will, but not every time she asks because she doesn’t need it and that’s a personal boundary. But my mom gives toddler food off her plate basically anytime she asks. So yes, grandma does share with toddler but I don’t like the expectation on my kid that she should always share.

It’s not sometimes. Every time we are together. Every single time my toddler has food my mom asks for some. Like what is this?
