Need advice- I’m so sick of this country real estate and these sellers. I’ve been on so many real estate apps looking for a detached home in Toronto/GTA. My fiancé has saved about 130k in down payment and has an income of around 150-180k. He works in Mississauga so we have to stay around there. I’m in school and work part time, we are able to take a loan of around 700k. I have looked everyday and struggle to find a decent home under 1 million. Detached is basically non existent from York region to Milton, or they are box sized and busted down selling for a million dollars. townhomes and semi-detached think they are worth the same as detached homes and are all 850k+ with condo fees or built horribly on the inside or outside. My parents purchased a 3500+ square foot detached home in York region for 750k newly built as well. This is ridiculous that we as adults work hard to live in ugly shoe box homes stuck with million dollar mortgages. I don’t want to purchase something that is overpriced and lose out in a couple years if we sell. What’s the best thing to purchase right now? Or should we go for a cheap condo until the market is better? If it even will get better?
