How to «really » build an fpv drone

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to learn how to build FPV drones completely from scratch, not just follow a build tutorial where all the parts are already chosen.
I started watching the 2023 Joshua Bardwell build series, and it’s really good for the actual assembly/setup process, but I still don’t fully understand how to know if parts are compatible together before buying them.
What I’m looking for is videos (preferred) or guides that explain things like:
How to choose a frame size

How motor size/KV works with prop size

How to know if motors fit the frame

ESC/FC compatibility

Battery voltage compatibility

How to know if props fit the motors/frame

DJI/O4 compatibility

Weight vs power tradeoffs

Basically how people know what parts go together when planning a custom build

Most tutorials already assume the parts list is perfect and compatible, but I want to understand the reasoning behind it.
Any YouTube channels, playlists, websites, or beginner resources that explain this stuff well?
Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I have a question about LiHV drone batteries and storage.

How long is it safe to leave LiHV batteries charged at 100% (4.35V per cell) before it starts affecting battery health?

I sometimes charge them fully before going out to fly, but I’m not always able to use them right away. I’ve heard that keeping LiHV batteries at full charge for too long can reduce their lifespan, but I’m not sure what “too long” actually means in practice.

Is it okay for a few hours, overnight, or should I always try to bring them down to storage voltage quickly?
