Don't be an entitled dog owner
Had a collegue of mine end up in hospital today due to an entitled dog owner thinking they own the place. We both work driving taxis for a taxi firm and dogs are not allowed in the taxis due to previous issues and my colleague having a really bad allergy. A customer called to book a taxi and asked if they could bring their dog along. They were told sorry no, and explained why. The customer then said it was fine and they wouldn't bring the dog. So my colleague then picked customer up and did not realise until he was driving the customer to the destination, but the customer had hidden the dog in his coat. The dog was very small and my collegue started having an allergic reaction, and is now at the hospital receiving treatment. Now the customer is speaking negatively about the taxi company on Facebook because we don't allow dogs and my colleague told him to leave the taxi before reaching the destination due to the allergic reaction starting.
People cannot expect everyone to cater to you having a dog. Some people get seriously ill being near dogs. There are very good reasons why dogs aren't allowed in some places, yet people seem to think they have as much right to be there as humans. No. Your dog, your responsibility. People humanise dogs way too much and it's weird.
What advice would you give for dealing with this issue? The response on Facebook is torn. Half of commenters are saying it's mean not to allow dogs in the taxis (because the dog has complex emotions and will be heartbroken lol), and others are stating that it's a health and safety risk to staff and other customers.
