I built a placement system in Roblox Studio, asset in the comments!
Most placement systems I’ve seen are just one giant script together. The moment you wanna change snapping or input handling you end up scrolling through 500 lines praying you don’t break something else 😭
I split mine into 4 parts instead:
- config
- preview/rendering
- input handling
- server verification
Made everything way easier to work on and the snapping logic itself ended up being like 3 lines once I stopped overthinking it.
Server side just verifies ownership + stamps IDs so people can’t spoof placements through remotes
