Kokoro Ramen, Eureka

Went there today, ordered a tonkotsu ramen, add spicy ground pork, and pan fried gyoza.

Waitress was great, helpful, charming, etc...

Overall look and vibe was good, chill and hop. Decent privacy for tables given space limitations.

Pan fried gyoza showed up. The dough was barely touched with any pan fry, it mostly just looked wet and smooth. Tasted decent though. But soft, not crispy at all

Ramen was...well, good and bad. The noodles were what appeared to be whole wheat angel hair pasta. They weren't ramen noodles, and the noodle taste did not mesh well with the broth.

The broth. The broth was amazing. Warm, rich, savory, sweet and salty. Sliced smoked pork belly. Soft boiled egg(!). Seaweed sheet. Other stuff. Great stuff, looked good, smelled good, tasted good.

I ordered some more gyoza, deep fried this time. These were much crispier, and warmer in the middle.

But the noodles killed it for me. The menu doesn't mention noodle type at all. I thought it would be udon or some other type of rice noodle. But this was like thin spaghetti 😂

It was an interesting one-time adventure, but I won't be returning.
