Stubborn rashes on baby’s cheeks
Hi everyone, I am at my wits end with these two patches of rashes on my baby’s cheeks. They have been there for 3 months. It’s made starting solids so much harder too.
It first started as a red dot on the right cheek. Then it started getting bigger and redder and rounder. Then it spread to the other cheek. Now it’s on both sides, and won’t go away.
We’ve been to the GP many times, and have been using steroid 1% on and off for 2 months now, and fucidin H when it looked infected and oozing (first pic). I also apply a thick ointment on the rashes 3/4 times a day and use Vaseline before food. But each time the rashes get better but will come back again, like a vicious cycle.
GP thinks it’s eczema as she has mild eczema on her body but could it be fungal if the rashes are not clearing on steroid? It seems to be round, especially the right cheek one. Also seems to be itchy at night, she doesn’t scratch during the day only at night time.
Any advice please! Thank you!
