AITAH: Mother’s Day Food Poisoning Extravaganza
Yesterday was my first Mother’s Day after having my baby boy last year, and my husband was so prepared. He got me presents from him and the baby. He brought me my favorite coffee in bed. We went out to a delicious fancy breakfast and we picked a bouquet of flowers.
After a midday nap, he had the most god-awful food poisoning hit. Vomit all over our one bathroom. Walls. Floor. Shower curtain. Toilet. He’s shaking and sweating and spewing from both ends. I’m cleaning him up, ordering gatorade, wrangling the baby.
Husband is so, so sick. I feel great. It’s not his fault, and he feels so bad my day was thrown into chaos. But it still sucks I spent most of my first Mother’s Day solo parenting and cleaning up vomit.
He kept saying he was sorry and he felt so bad and if I was okay. After a few hours I told him I knew it wasn’t his fault but I was sad that my day didn’t turn out how I wanted.
AITA for being upset by this (literal) shitshow?
