What if Robert hadn't cleared the room when he was on his Deathbed?

What if Robert hadn't ordered everyone out of the room besides Ned before he dictated his final decree? If Barristen Cersei Pycell and Joffrey would have heard Roberts intention to name Ned protector of the realm would they have honored it? I think Ned would have had a lot more leverage to actually take his position if the Lord commander of the King's Guard and the Grand Maester heard it from the king's mouth. Thoughts?

What about the boys being raised in Gilead?

I wasn't quite sure what flair to use, mainly because I am still due to post in haha. So my question is about the young men in Gilead. I'm only part way through the books but I have watched the series and I realized that they never really show young men in Gilead. So like what is their upbringing like? And if all of the young plums are raised to eventually marry the older Commanders what about the young man of the country? Seems kind of lopsided like how will future Generations thrive if all of the young women are being given to the fossils of the country LOL I can't help but Wonder how teenage boys in the country are raised. Are they raised Pious and proper or are they basically young Andrew Tate type guys raised with toxic masculinity from a young age. Thoughts?

I haven't had a chance to read the book yet. But my question is what does everyday civilian life look like? Is everyone who is not in the military considered Econopeople? Is the entire population of Gilead required to be devoutly religious? The show focuses on the upper echelon of society and their servants and they all speak so proper with they're greetings and responses 'blessed be the fruit.' 'may the Lord open.' (Barf btw) but how do regular normal everyday people talk? LOL I mean I live in a city of 30,000 people. If my town was in the country of Gilead would you expect that everybody is religious and act like the people who lived in boston? I don't know to articulate what I am thinking , but somehow the show makes Gilead seem very small, almost like it's Boston and DC. Oh and one more question, is Christianity is still the religion or is it called the Sons of Jacob now? Or is Sons of Jacob just the name of the government. I guess I should take some time and listen to the audible so I can answer my own questions. I will have to do that soon because recently the world of the handmaid's tale as basically become my new Game of Thrones if that makes any sense LOL I am obsessed with any Gilead lore I can learn about lately!

I just went back and reread what I wrote now I am questioning if I should even post this. It's only my second post ever on Reddit and I feel like this may be too many questions for one post haha
