Cheel Muski: The Real Story Behind Ragging at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad : (Hint: It’s Far Worse Than You Think)

(I hate AI too; I've used it for the post to remove all references to my writing style)
TL DR: The PDF posted is in reference to the Cheel Muski PDF which juniors are forced to remember and recite (with additional noises and lewd actions) to make the seniors happy.
I am from IIT (ISM), and I am tired of watching seniors reduce this whole thing to “sir/ma’am.”
That is the clean version they want outsiders to hear. The reality is uglier.
There is an old PDF, titled 'Cheel Muski' that has been passed around in ISM circles for years. It contains obscene chants, sexual oaths, degrading lines, forced noises, expressions, and a fixed “intro” format. All of us have been made to memorize and perform things in front of seniors in the name of “interaction.” Photos of the PDF are posted below. If moderators want to confirm my identity and the veracity of the photos, they are free to DM me.
It means this was not one random incident. It means generations of students knew. Seniors knew. Alumni knew. Hostel groups knew. My batchmates knew. I knew, and I want to bring this to light. People laughed, forwarded it, performed it, enforced it, and then pretended in public that ISM ragging is just about calling seniors sir and ma’am.
Please stop insulting everyone’s intelligence.
Freshers are made to look at the third button while speaking to seniors. They are made to memorize seniors’ names, places, branches, and departments (which is fine generally; but in ISM such a mundane act becomes sinister as well). They are pushed into pointless dress codes: shoes in the rain, jeans in the burning summer, all to prove that they can be controlled.
And then there are the rooms.
That is where the worst stories live. Behind closed doors, away from cameras, away from faculty, away from anti-ragging posters and official committees. Forced to recite the Cheel Muski PDF. Everyone knows why juniors are scared to speak. Everyone knows what happens when someone complains. Social boycott, threats, humiliation, being marked as “oversmart,” being told they are destroying the college’s image.
The college image was already destroyed by the people who normalized this.
The damage control has already started. My batchmates are online trying to make the issue sound exaggerated. They are pretending the whole controversy is about basic respect. They are acting like freshers are being too sensitive.
No.
Sexual humiliation is ragging. Forced obedience is ragging. Making freshers memorize obscene scripts is ragging. Third-button rules are ragging. Dress-code policing is ragging. Hostel-room “interactions” are ragging. Making juniors live in fear for weeks or months is ragging.
The Director’s office and anti-ragging bodies cannot keep acting blind. Posters and helpline numbers mean nothing if juniors still feel safer staying silent than telling the truth.
To the seniors doing damage control: you are not protecting ISM. You are protecting ragging.
And everyone can see it.
I hope this reaches the right people. Enough is enough.
I do not want to spoil the name of my institute, but I believe our juniors deserve the truth!
