Hello, my grandmother has recently passed. And she told that when she was in secondary, there was a Jewish painter who lived in the West end of Glasgow/partick, who took her and did her portrait which he called "the schoolgirl."Yet because she couldn't afford to pay for the portrait, even though she posed for it, her family couldn't take it home. So the painter kept it and she never saw it since. If anyone knows the name of this painter please let me know. Which brings me to the conclusion of what I ask for. If anyone has heard of a painting called "the schoolgirl" or if you have any sort of record about jewish painters in Glasgow please let me know any sort of information would be amazing for my family.
