Drug trafficking is a global criminal trade that generates billions of dollars while leaving a devastating impact on individuals, families, and communities.

⚖️ The fight against trafficking requires more than enforcement. Understanding the facts is the first step toward understanding the scale of the problem — and the challenge of stopping it.

Singapore must leverage on strong governance and proficient use of AI to stay ahead of crime in a time when the technology is rapidly evolving, said Senior Minister K. Shanmugam.

The Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs was speaking at the Singapore Police Force Scholarship and Ministry of Home Affairs Scholarships Award Ceremony 2026 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre on Aug 18.
