Title: IRP Renewal Submitted Before Expiry but No Acknowledgement Email for 50+ Days, Employer Suspended My Work. How to handle this legally

Hi everyone,

I’m honestly exhausted and hoping someone here may have experienced something similar or can advise me on what to do next.

I submitted my Stamp 1G IRP renewal online before my IRP expiry date. I completed the full application properly:

* uploaded all required documents,

* paid the renewal fee,

* and my application still shows as “Submitted” in the INIS portal.

However, the major issue is that I NEVER received the acknowledgement/confirmation email containing the application submission date.

This has now become a huge problem because employers are specifically asking for that acknowledgement email as proof that the renewal application was submitted before expiry.

Because of this:

* my current employer has suspended my shifts,

* I’ve already lost several days of work,

* and I’ve also lost potential job opportunities after interviews because companies require official immigration proof before proceeding.

What makes this even more frustrating is:

* the application clearly exists,

* payment was taken successfully,

* the application status says “Submitted,”

* but no acknowledgement email was ever generated,

* and nothing appears under the “Status” section of the Irish Immigration customer portal either.

I contacted ISD multiple times through:

* support queries,

* emails,

* follow-ups.

Most responses were generic replies about processing delays/travel information and didn’t actually address the missing acknowledgement email issue. Some queries were even marked as “Closed” without resolution.

I have already contacted:

* TD offices,

* MRCI,

* and immigration support services.

Some TD offices have confirmed that they contacted ISD on my behalf and are awaiting responses.

At this stage I genuinely don’t know what else to do. I came to Ireland, invested heavily in my education, followed the legal renewal process correctly, and now I feel stuck because of what appears to be a system/administrative issue.

Has anyone else experienced:

* missing acknowledgement emails,

* blank customer portal status,

* or employers refusing work despite submitted renewal applications?

If yes:

* how long did it take to resolve?

* who actually helped?

* and is there any escalation path that worked for you?

Any advice would really mean a lot right now.
