Hi all.
I started a new job (Job A) a little over 2 weeks ago. I left my previous job for this Job A for 2 reasons: it is a full-time position and I had applied for another job (we’ll call it Job B) but was still in the application process when I got the job offer for this (Job A) one.
I told myself what’s the worst that could happen? I get a few weeks of decent paychecks while I wait to see what happens with Job B, and if I don’t get that Job B I’ll just stay where I’m at. Well, a week into Job A I got a job offer for Job B.
I told myself if Job B offered me a position I would take it. I was just waiting on an official start date.
I’m typically very professional about work matters and such, and have always given a proper 2-weeks notice (in some cases, even longer) but I don’t see the point in giving a 2 weeks notice at Job A, as I am still undergoing training and haven’t been officially assigned any duties until I am proficient enough in the softwares/systems they use. If I did they would essentially be paying me to sit in the office and continue to train for a job I won’t be staying at.
I don’t know, writing it all out makes it seem like the answer is pretty obvious, but I’d like another opinion.
TIA
