Deco M4R slow speeds with wired backhaul

Hello all!

I recently got a Deco X20 to replace my main Deco (M4R). I decided to get rid of my satellite wireless only Decos and moved the M4R upstairs with a wired backhaul over MoCA. while the connection is very stable, I noticed the speeds over WiFi drop significantly from the M4R.

It usually pulls around 70-120 Mbps from the M4R. Our connection is 500 Mbps, and the X20 easily does this over WiFi. And yes, the device I’m testing from is definitely connected to the M4R when I’m pulling 70-120 Mbps.

Things I’ve done:

• confirmed gigabit link both from the MoCA adapter (Hitron MoCA 2.5) and the M4R

• Ran Speedtest from MoCA adapter Ethernet port directly as well as ethernet port on the M4R, both pulled full 500 Mbps

• Rebooted and factory reset the M4R

• Confirmed using Ethernet backhaul in Deco app

I understand the M4R is only AC1200, but even in real world usage I thought it should be able to pull at least 300-500 Mbps over WiFi, especially standing next to it? With the old setup, I did also test standing next to the M4R when it was setup as the main Deco, and it did pull pretty close to 500 Mbps if not more.

If anyone has any insight as to why our WiFi speeds are slower than expected or advice on other things to try, it would be greatly appreciated :)
