IPV6 won’t enable.

I have been trying to get IPv6 and it says it’s enabled in the app and when I do a test, it says IPv6 is not available. When I directly connect to my modem I do get IPv6, however; the router simple won’t used it. Any work around?

Internet Keeps Dropping - Can't Figure It Out

i'm in so-cal and spectrum did some "upgrading" to hardware. this was 5 days ago. got the alert that they were done and i could enjoy better internet. the last 4 days have been terrible. constant disconnects. tech came and said everything is good to go, no problems. so i got rid of my google mesh (8 yrs old) and got a tp link 3 pack routers X55. worked great for 24 hrs and now dropping again, reboot and it works and then drops 30 mins later. repeat 10x. anyway, just like the google mesh i got rid of. i regret dumping them now that the tp link routers keep dropping like google did. but spectrum says it's all good still. now i install i more expensive tp link 3 pack routers XE75 and they work for 1 hr tonight and now they turn red again, just like the googles did and the other tp link X55. i am at wits end. i can keep rebooting and everything works for 15 mins to an hour...then the dreaded red lights on routers/mesh.

is this a spectrum issue? tp link was totally unhelpful earlier today. could 3 different sets of routers be messed up and dropping? again spectrum keeps telling me things look fine and the tech said the same. i have no idea where to go from here.

Adding an Extender has Impacted My Phone's WiFi Calling but Nothing Else

Hello,

As the title suggests, I recently added a TP-Link RE715X extender, which matches the brand of my router; this was to provide superior speeds to my devices in the basement of our home where I work. I'm using a wireless connection from the router to the extender, and the extender is then hardwired to the two devices in the area where I work that previously did not receive solid connection speeds via wireless connections, even though my phone previously did in the very same room.

In any event, the extender seems to have resolved the problem I was having with two devices, but it's also inadvertently created a new problem that I was not previously having: the WiFi calling feature, which I had enabled before and after the extender was added, now has sporadic performance at best. Sometimes, I can't make calls using WiFi calling, and numerous times, someone has tried to call me but my phone goes straight to voicemail without ringing. When this happens, disabling and re-enabling WiFi on my phone seems to resolve it, but it does not prevent it from happening again in the future. I've tried power cycling my router and the extender numerous times without any sort of noticeable difference. When this happens, my phone has a full WiFi connection, and everything else on it, such as apps, browsing the internet, etc. works without issue; it's just the WiFi calling feature that's impacted.

To confirm the extender is what brought about this change, I disabled WiFi calling on my phone, and I no longer experienced this issue over a week or so. Almost as soon as I turned it back on, the problem resurfaced. I'd really like to be able to continue using WiFi calling without this happening, as I could prior to adding the extender, for the stability in the event I'm not getting great 5G reception in my house, so I'd really prefer not to have to leave that off. Finally, both my router and extender have been updated to the latest firmware. Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance.

About 10 of our Decos suddenly reset

Hi, I've setup maybe 100 Deco X20s and X50s over the past year or two. Two days ago, 10 them all reset, and needed pairing again. Turns out the online TP Link account had disappeared. There were several different accounts used for these 10 Decos. All gone. Not sure I understand why deleting the account in the cloud kills the router, but mostly i want to avoid this happening again. Ideas?

Deco/XE5300 Block access to IP ranges

How can I block incoming WAN IP addresses from accessing my LAN? I saw a video which showed a "Block List" option from the More menu, but that selection does not show for me. Why is that and how can I block IP access to my network?

Please help optimise my network. Cables everywhere but the WiFi is now excellent.

Hi all.

I've recently upgraded my network and could do with a hand in further optimising it please.

Here's the current set up:

The house is a mid terrace (attached pysically to a another house on the left and right in my diagram). It's alsl over two floors, with 3 bedrooms (or 2 beds and an office in my case). Size wise, it's around 1000 square feet, built in the late 60s of cavity walls (outer brick, inner breeze block, with an insulated gap between them). The windows are double glazed with "energy glass", which blocks WiFi (i lose around 20dB of signal through the glass alone). Internal walls are concrete breeze blocks and these cause the signal to be almost non existent without having all these APs in such a small space..

3x Deco BE65, each one has 4x 2.5 Gb LAN/WAN ports. They are Wi-Fi 7, tri band. Each one is hard wired directly to the main one in the livingroom using solid copper outdoor rated cat 6 cable.. They do not support PoE so are powered off the electrical sockets..

A Deco BE25, outdoor unit. Currently powered from an outdoor electrical socket temporarily. This can take PoE and is dual band WiFi 7.

The layout: Please see diagram for current cable runs.

1. Livingroom Deco BE65, which has the following:

- LAN 1: This acts as WAN from the ONT. No internet supplied routers so no NAT issues.

- LAN 2: Gigabit switch which links to the TV, games console, and a Tapo hub.

- LAN 3: Cable to the Kitchen Deco.

- LAN 4: Cable to the Office Deco.

2. Kitchen Deco BE65.

- LAN 1: Hard wired directly from the livingroom Deco on its own cable.

- LAN 2: Has a cable going to one camera out of the front of the house (bottom of the picture). This is currently powered by a mains electrical socket but ideally I want to free up that socket.

- LAN 3: Another cable goes to a camera about 25 metres away, off the top of the picture, which is currently powered by a PoE injector on top of one of the kitchen units.

- LAN 4: Spare.

3. Office Deco BE65.

- LAN 1: Hard wired directly to the livingroom Deco on its own cable.

- LAN 2: Cable to a streaming box on the TV.

- LAN 3: Cable to the docking station for my work laptop.

- LAN 4: Cable temporarily routed through a cracked window (on vent) to the outdoor BE25.

No Spare LAN port but I do have a spare gigabit switch I could move the TV and work laptop to if needed (they only have gigabit LAN so no big deal).

4. Outdoor Deco BE25 which is attached to the outside wall in my back yard.

- LAN 1: Cable from the office Deco.

- LAN 2: Spare. No other LAN ports.

WiFi:

I have zero concerns about with this setup as internally, a get an almost full signal in every room. I have a few smart plugs and smart speakers around the house and apart from that, I use my mobile and sometimes my work or personal laptop on Wi-Fi.

Externally, the BE25 is enough for me to get signal when sat in my car which is about 12 metres away and behind a tall wooden gate. The BE25 is currently about 8 feet up a wall but I could move this higher if it may help.

What do we think is the best way of simplifying this lot?

Ideally I want the two outdoor cameras to be powered by PoE to avoid running power cables and also avoid taking up valuable electrical sockets in my kitchen. I was thinking of using a LAN port on the kitchen Deco to feed into a gigabit PoE switch and having both cameras running off that, as it would give me room to expand the number of cameras in future.

I want the outdoor BE25 to be powered by PoE so I was thinking of just taking the 2.5 Gb PoE injector upstairs and using that between the office BE65 and the outdoor BE25.

I think some say it would be better to add a switch between the 4 Deco units but my main concern is the indoor units. The outdoor BE25 while used a lot, isn't something I would worry ahout being connected to the office Deco BE65 as they all support and can automatically switch to wireless backhaul if one of them was to go down.

I'd love your input.

Thanks!

Advantages of using the IOT network vs assigning devices to 2.4ghz?

Many IOT devices are only compatible with 2.4ghz, so far I have been assigning them to be 2.4ghz only in the TP-Link app. Is there an advantage to using the IOT network feature instead?

Decos are driving me insane, help!

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Deco devices that is driving me crazy. I have 6 of them in my house: a BE3600 model, an X10 model, three X50 models, and an X50 Outdoor. They are all connected to my home modem in access point mode.

I don't know exactly since when, but to make a long story short, except for the BE3600 (which is the main one), the Decos connected via ethernet cable are detected by the network (they have their own IP address, the LEDs are on, etc.) and they provide Wi-Fi to the other Decos that are not connected via cable, BUT they do not provide the home Wi-Fi to all the other devices in the house. I also tried to force the connection of some devices to those Decos via Wi-Fi, but it is as if they do not repeat the Wi-Fi.

I have done a lot of tests, I tried changing from access point to router, I tested all the cables and switches, but nothing... the only other clue I can give you is that when I reset a satellite, it goes back to working as it should, but as soon as I restart the network, it goes back to giving me the same problem. Help me, I don't know what to do anymore.

Deco X55 AX3000 mesh speed slow down until reboot

got a 3 node deco x55 ax300 mesh network going on , everything's wired backhauled. lately i've notcied sluggish performance that is resolved by reboot. my internet down is 400mbps, speed test usually comes around that range (slightly over) when everything's working. it will randomly slows down to around 100mbps and stay there until i reboot all nodes. speed test done on hardwired devices

i've already tried swapping the ethernet cable connecting from modem to main node and still the same behavior. just wondering what's my next step or it's time to ask for a warranty exchange since im still within 2 year period?

Compatibility Deco devices

Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade my home Wifi with some additional Deco Devices. I currently using three XE75 with Wifi 6E. Currently there are some areas where the connection is quite bad (basement). As I'm not looking for maximum speed I'm not really willing to spend 260€ on another set of XE75, so the most logical solution would be the X50/55, but right now there is an offer for the 3-Pack of the BE3600 with Wifi 7.

Can I use Wifi 7 when the main node is a XE75 or if I use the BE3600 as the main, will I be able to still use the 6Ghz network? Will one of the devices be "downgraded" because it doesn't support the 6Ghz or Wifi 7? To be clear, I know that my XE75 won't magically support Wifi 7 just because there is a Wifi 7 device in the Mesh, it's more like if I'm in the distance of the XE75 will it use Wifi 6E and if I'm in the range of the BE3600 it will use Wifi 7?!

Thanks!

Best way to offer wifi coverage in a big house.

Hi,

I have a B&B, and I currently have an old setup made out of 7 tp link extenders to offer coverage in the whole building, which consists of 3 floors that are separated by thick walls.
It runs great on most of the areas, but I had to connect to extenders to other extenders to be able to offer coverage in those places, and the speed there is lacking. (<= 30 Mbps).
I'm thinking of changing this to a better system, and I thought about either wifi mesh or Powerline and adapters.
I'm not sure if one would be better than the other for my scenario.

I am open to any ideas, even if they were not mentioned by me.
The desired speed would be (>= 100 Mbps).
Mention: I do have a Poe switch, but I wouldn't want to run cable through my whole building but I am able to use Poe-powered devices.

Devcice not Recognized by PC-AC 1300, Archer T3u Plus model

I purchased this, and it worked fine, even without me installing the drivers for it for a few days. Then I installed the driver, and the connection was spotty, and didn't work. Now, windows isn't recognizing it at all. I have tried the USB plug, the USB3 plug, plugs on the back of my computer. None have worked. I have tried to restart my computer, didn't work either. Any fixes, or do i need to look into getting a newer/better model?

ER605 Gigabit VPN Router Problem with Google

Good day! I just got ER605 Tplink router for the purpose for using 2 ISP on it, I was successful with the configuration and I noticed I could not browse www.google.com on it, I thought it was DNS issue intially but after back and forth of using primary and secondary DNS on the 2 WAN ports, it still did not work but google.com works outside the ER605 router, I will appreciate any help I can get.

Sawtooth Signal no matter what I try

I've tried everything I and the Google can think of. Is this just how TP-Link Routers work? My neighbors' WiFi signals are nice and smooth. Google says this shouldn't be like this. I get full of dropouts 4 to 5 times a day for 3 to 5 minutes. I'm at my whitt's end. I removed all of my Easy Mesh Extenders thinking they were causing an issue. It tookd my speeds from 150mbps to 500+ mbps, so there was definitely something going on there, but I still have this sawtooth signal.

The router is a BE6500 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router, I have two of them here both configured identically, and they both do the same damn thing.

Has anyone been able to solve this?

No Internet status on Tether, but internet is working

Hi everyone

I have an Archer AC1200 router configured as an Access Point. The internet works perfectly fine on all connected devices, but whenever I log into the router settings—whether through the web browser or the Tether app—it shows a "No Internet" status

Has anyone faced this issue before? Any idea how to fix it?

I would appreciate any help

Deco M4 ethernet backhaul issue

I know, my post is one of the many others in this topic, and I swear I read many other posts, but the ethernet backhaul still does not work for me.

The setup is simple:

One Huawer B565 4G modem/router - connected to the "master" Deco M4, then an ethernet cable goes from this "master" deco to the other one.

Still there is not ehternet backhaul, only wifi.

I have one suspicious thing here: the ethernet connection is: cable goes into the wall connector and there is a connector in the other room, and a cable into the slave Deco.

I have tested the wall cable with a cable tester, all leds working fine, so I guess all wires are ok.

What can be the problem? however there are another connectors on other rooms (unused), and all the rooms cables are soldered together like a star - wire by wire - in a central place. But I just use it as an extension, and as i said ethernet tester shows its fine.

Archer BE9300

I've had this hooked up multiple times. Best it does is 8-12 hours with no issues, then the internet drops. I notice that it gets a bit warm.

I've reset the router, reset my cable modem, same results. Tether app says the firmware is up to date.

It's currently boxed up for return unless someone here has a solution.

TP-Link Archer AX55 Pro as WireGuard client for remote LAN access and Wake-on-LAN?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying the TP-Link Archer AX55 Pro and I have a question about using it as a WireGuard client.

Current setup:

  • I already have a WireGuard server running at my father’s house.
  • At my own house, I would install the AX55 Pro.
  • I want the AX55 Pro to connect as a WireGuard client to that remote server and keep the tunnel always connected.

My goal:
When I’m away from home (for example at my father’s house or on mobile data), I want to access my home LAN remotely through the WireGuard tunnel and send Wake-on-LAN (WoL) packets to wake up PCs inside my network.

Questions:

  1. Does the AX55 Pro work reliably as a WireGuard client in this scenario?
  2. Can devices from the remote side access the home LAN correctly through the tunnel?
  3. Has anyone successfully used Wake-on-LAN through this setup?
  4. Does the router properly forward WoL/broadcast packets to the LAN?

Thanks!
