I’m quite anxious about my revalidation. I am a locum SHO
I started working at a new trust and thought I would do my revalidation with them but they have told me that i cannot do it with them as they are not my designated body…

In my surprise I asked why, as I have been working with them for whatever shifts they give me (bear in mind I have almost 100 declined shifts from them) for last 3 months. They told me specifically I have to work 96 hrs per month to be allocated as DB. I told them that it’s hard to do this when I’m being refused shifts all the time and that there are many doctors trying to work shifts because of unemployment crisis.

I was confused as I said that this is where I do my only clinical work and my hours work out to about 2-3 shifts a week depending on what they give me and what is avaliable. They told me it’s trust policy. There have been occasions I have worked full week and then nothing the next due to not being allocated shifts

I’m currently under my previous trust for my DB but obviously all my clinical work is with my current trust.

I have already discussed with GMC and they said that they cannot specifically interfere with this case and told me to “plead with your current trust” to allocate you as their DB

I’m very stressed about this as my revalidation is coming up and also starting training in August.

Surely if I’m doing all of my clinical work under my trust they should be my DB? Why are they refusing to do this despite me consistently working with them?

Any help? Is this legal? Anyone else been in any similar situations?

Thanks in advance
