Pic for attention.

I've posted the Maxon before but as much as I've checked it still doesn't work.

It just gets static and no WX. I feel like on these generic square CB units (and other radios) this is a common problem because the board is cheap.

I've checked over every soldier connection on the board and the CAPs, especially ANT and GND and the are solid with a multimeter.

PRO-404

This scanner was working great until it fell off a shelf and now it doesn't pickup any freqs that I know work.

Both radios work fine they just get static on RX almost like the antenna is grounded.

I don't have a scope.

WHY POST TO REDDIT?

TBH I don't want to junk these. My engineering background (brain) says there's probably 1 cheap Chinese component in each radio that got cracked when they were dropped or mis Handled. This has got to be a simple fix. I've debated sending these off to a repair guy but I know it's probably going to cost more than the radios. I just can't junk em I KNOW there's a solution somewhere.

ALSO. The CB repair community on YouTube is not helpful. Either it's "Did you check the power" or it's way EE focused using equipment rivaling a shop. There's got to be a better way.

Contributions to the community:

Honestly I wouldn't be opposed to sending them both off to one of yall if you make an in depth high quality educational video explaining your troubleshooting, methodology, and how it works/how it was fixed. I think the aspiring tech nerds /HAMs would love to see that.

I have the service manual for the MAXON too if any of yall want to take a shot on it.
