Trying formula

In the hospital, after I had my baby the Similac formula they provided did not sit well in my baby’s tummy so I immediately started pumping. I’ve been breastfeeding my baby for all of his life, but I’m anxious about not being able to produce enough milk if he starts eating more. I tried the formula as a backup, but he projectile vomits and gags after eating it. He cries horribly during these episodes, and even though I mix formula with breast milk, he sleeps for 5-6 hours and seems out of it afterward. My pediatrician prescribed famotidine, which reduced my reflux with breast milk, but I’m worried about not being able to produce enough milk and having to use formula, which his body reacts to badly. I’ve heard about cow’s milk protein allergies in breastfed babies, and I know there are goat milk formula brands, but I’m scared to try formula again. I don’t know if I should have an allergy test done on him, since his poop isn’t “mucousy” after formula but he gets constipated for 1-3 days. I’m looking for advice, support, or feedback from other moms who have been through similar experiences.

The formula we tried is Similac, which the hospital provides, Enfamil Gentle Ease, and Enfamil AR

My baby will be 2 months old on May 9th. I’ve been exclusively pumping since leaving the hospital. I didn’t initially plan to, but since my son has reflux, I noticed that breast milk helped him more. I pump every 4 hours, sometimes every 3 hours initially, power pumping during the day because I rarely wake up at night to pump, and if I do, only once. Around 5.5 weeks postpartum, I stopped leaking when skipping MOTN pumps, and engorgement became less painful. Before my output would vary, but now I consistently produce 24-28oz daily. I've observed that my letdowns are slower, even though the total amount pumped remains the same. It now takes longer to fully drain. I’ve never needed to supplement with formula. My baby takes 2oz every 2 hours, except during a 3-4 hour nap, and I produce about 4.5oz every 4 hours, so everything balances out. I’m not worried about my supply regulating, but I wonder if it can happen this early postpartum? According to others' experiences, this usually occurs around 7-12 weeks.
